Sleep. That's when you recover and get bigger. So I figure, the more recovering aids you take before bed, =better recovery=better growth. Any opinions?
Has anyone ever tried supp.'s like renutrient or serenity2?

I have not tried either supplement, but I offer the following:

About 11 years ago I decided to start getting 8 hours of sleep every night. Prior to that I viewed sleep as an annoyance to be sacrificed when I had something that needed to be done. I also tended to get sick every winter with cold after cold.

Since making it my policy to get 8 hours of sleep, I have had one low grade cold in 11 years.

All my life, the 19 3/4s years of it that is, I've had a bitch of a time falling asleep, so right now, I take 4 Z-Mass PMs by Cytodyne, 1 Valerian Root, 1 Kava Kava, and 1 Melatonin. I haven't tried the Serenity 2, but it looks good, got an ad for it the other day in the mail. In my opinion, it IS HARD TO TELL IF THAT SH*T WORKS, but it's worth it to me to spend a little money and think that it's helping me, 'cause you're right--SLEEP=GROWTH, and if you train like me in the mornings, GOOD SLEEP=INTENSE WORKOUTS!!

Any other tips on sleeping aids would be appreciated!

Get the Kava Kava in a liquid form with an alchohol substrate that you can shoot under your tounge. Amazon Products makes a version that is very good. Get the Melatonin in the sublinguil version, not the powdered tab form. This also is placed under the tounge, it will knock you out. Take your additional supps/vits @ night before you go to bed, that way you will get a better saturation.

if you get 4-6 hours a night, for most people that's enough....but it's debatable. there is a difference between sleeping and resting i don't really believe you need 8-10 hours...imagine what you could be missing if you sleep your life away! 2 more hours a night means roughly 1 more month per year was spent in bed! unless those 2 hours extra per night were spent getting nookie, i don't see the point in an extra month per year in bed!

Take care,

Well Pharm Animal I guess you where joking cause that was damn funny

Really you need 8hrs of sleep per night. I also can't afford 10hrs per night and feel that more than 8hrs is just being lazy.

But 8hrs is king...

I can fell it when I sleep less I wake up and don't feel good the blood pressure is up and I am holding water and generally feel like shit.

I find that 6-7 hours of sleep is adequate for growth and recovery. Not to mention those extra hours that you are awake make a difference in your activity and in trn positively affect your body fat levels. Anymore than 8 hours I feel grogggy for a couple hours upon wakening. I have also found that GHB greatly enhances quality of sleep and increases recovery between workouts. It has had positive results such as decreased BF%, increased vascularity, and muscle gain for many people that I know.

In the fall, I will be fucked. I get out of work at about 12:15 am and get up at 6:00 am for school. It takes me forever to fall asleep, so I have to rely on naps after workouts and before work in the afternoon.

8 hours, you guys are gods! I'd be happy with 5-6. I think the quality is probably the most important aspect however.

get big or get out

One summer in high school I didnt work and all I did was eat, work out, and sleep. I slept about 12-14 hours a day, of course waking up for a brief period to eat something every couple of hours and got stronger than hell NATURALLY. The only numbers I remember are that my leg press went up about 450 LBS in about 10 weeks.

I think that sleep really depends on the individual at a particular time in their life. I've heard people between 16-24 need more than others, anyway.

i've tried renewtrient, melatonin, sleeping pills, etc. you have to take too many renewtrient pills to fall asleep-it's nowhere near the real ghb. one melatonin is equal to about 3-4 renewtrients. plus i heard it's better. so stick to melatonin.

i'm definitley not an expert when it comes to sleeping patterns, but i have read a little on the subject. they pretty much say that the "typical" person needs 8-9 hrs sleep per day. since we dont get that, must people walk around sleep deprived & dont even know it. the older you get, the "less" sleep you actually need (seems like it should be the other way). anyways, a good rule of thumb to follow is if you need an alarm clock to wake up & you still feel tired, then your not getting enough sleep.

by the way, if your still not getting enough sleep as you grow older, your body stops (or decreases) production of a certain hormone. that hormone helps decrease the fat around your chin and stomach. so good luck to all of you who are getting by on 4-5 hrs!!

I've posted this a few times in past. I swear by atarax. You can get it from your doc just tell him you're scratching at night from some allergy and it's cheap. One a night and you'll get your 8 hours easy. It only take one night to get used to it is not addicitive.

Sublingual melatonin works very well for me. You could also check out Prosource's Sedazone-PM formula. It looks good, but I've never tried it.

One time I came home from work and went right to sleep. I woke up the next morning to go back to work (15 hours later)..I felt like new man. Whenever I do a highly intense leg workout, I sleep 10 hours that night. The more you sleep, the faster you recover, the less likely you'll overtrain, simple as that.
