First of all I am on a deca, test eth cycle. This monday will be the begining of the 3rd week. The question is that last night as I was getting home from a bb contest, I immediately got this sharp pain on my right trap. Everytime I breath, talked, or laughed, that pain was there. I worked out traps on Friday morning and this happened Saturday night. The whole night I was in pain and couldnt move my right arm because of this pain. If anyone knows or has experienced this, please help. I dont know whether or not to continue my cycle. musclemac

It can be due to...... 1)myospasm 2)glenohumoral joint misalignment 3)clavicle(collar bone) misalignment 4)1st rib misalignment ------------------

I dont think this has anything to do with steroids, it sounds like a damaged nerve/possibly partial paralysis of your arm. If you worked your traps too hard or didnt warm up or maybe jerked the weight around when lifting this could cause something like that to happen. Dont stop the cycle, I think I can guarantee this is not drug related. Anyone else? ------------------

Is there anything that I can take to take the pain away. I am taking tylenol and some ben gay, but the pain still seems to be there when I move my arm, talk or even breath. The pain is not as bad as yesterday though. Thanks for all the help!

would some massage therapy help? ------------------

Do you have your own chiropractor? I recommend you to see them ASAP. According to what you mentioned that the pain is worse when you breathe,I suspect your 1st rib is out of place. Chiropractic doctors will take care of you. Good luck. ------------------

Hey Asian Muscle, why would this happen? Does it happen to everyone or just to people on AS? When I go would they know that I am on the juice, just curious b/c I still live with parents, still a teen.

Little man, it can happen to everybody. There are many possible causes for that kind of injury. I guess you have stronger trap on the right side. It may be the primary problem. But this is only my guess. You'd better see a chiropractic doctor in person. And the last question, if your parents can't tell you are on juice, they won't know either, but it all depends how big you are. ------------------

Great advice here, Listen to them Bro...Your traps are full of nerves and blood vessels, and this is not AS related per say...Remember to warm up good before your workouts when on cycle. The added water weight acts as a buffer in the joints and you can injure yourself due to the added strength your getting... Your problem could be in the ribs, or possibly a pulled muscle, maybe a pinched nerve... it's the arm pain that makes me wonder, and due to the movement of shrugs, that possibly a C-Spine nerve may be pinched.....take some time off and rest, and try the usual therapy of ice/heat...bottom line...take it easy for a bit Bro!!!! ------------------ Ranger

You can keep going your cycle. I guess it won't hurt you more. And you don't have to stop your workout, but do not choose the one which aggravates your symptom, otherwise don't worry too much. Find D.C. who can take care of you. ------------------

Asia is right on....no movements that causes pain, stay on, and hit legs, bi's tri's..etc. Give it some time, and then try a very light weight and feel the movement through each rep....no pain...no gain....Bullshit!!! Wrong kinda pain....Peace!!! ------------------ Ranger

how can u work bi's when u have a pinched nerve in your trap? they work as a stabalizer and the more blood u get in there i more pain your gonna have . r your fingers numb? is the pain shooting or constant? do u sleep on your side?

The pain is constant, but sometimes it feels worse than others. I dont plan on working out until I know exactly what is causing this. I am not sleeping on it, it just happened all of a sudden. Cant figure out what it is. musclemac

Asian, I don't know if you are a Chiro or not, but being one, I thank you for the confidence with Doctor's of Chiropractic. We just don't get the recognition we deserve. At any rate, I'd agree with the first rib subluxation dx.
