Well for starters, i am not crying scammer just yet. I have a kick ass domestic source who i have used very frequently over the past year. Every order has gone without a hitch, until now. I sent him 900.00 which he recieved on aug 14th. The tracking system at least tells me the package was delivered. He mails me yesterday to tell me he hasn't recieved it. He says that they do the final scan on the package at the post office before they deliver it. So it must have dissapeared some time between the post office and his box. Is this how the post office does it? I thought the final scan occured when the package was delivered.

Anyways he claims this is a first for him and he will still take care of my order even though he hasn't recieved payment.(time will tell for that)Another source that went by the name of chachi, said the same thing and ended up scamming alot of people.

Have any of you guys ever dealt with a priority mail parcel similar to this, that was either over 5 days late or one where the tracking said it as delivered but it never was?

Once again my source has been a good guy thus far, and im not crying scammer just yet, just a little concerned.

I sent priorty to the warmer part of the states, call the company that you sent it priorty to and they should be able to tell you if it was picked up or not, if they say it was tell them that your source said he didn't get it. and then wait and see what happens.

Considering you have $900 at risk, I'd be concerned too.

the only problem i have had with usps's tracking number, was the whole time it was heading to its destination, it never changed status . it always said it did not exist and i sent it, so i new it did. about 2 days later my source told me my order was on the way and gave me my return tracking number. i got my package and my money , by the tracking number remained not known. (the one i sent)

Well, thanx for the replies and info. My source is a great guy and i truly think he will still send my stuff. Even if he only sends me half of my order, it still wouldn't be a total loss.I have given him a ton of buisness and will continue to so if i dont end up getting screwed. On the post office scans, with priority mail delivery confirmation, i really think that the final scan is done at the post office the day of delivery. With express, it is done at the delivery address.

Seems like he waited for the big order to scam you. If he says he will send anyway only time will tell.

You know, vdevil, Luca's post got me thinking.

For most clients, $900 is an understandably substantial amount of cash. But to a legit source, considering his/her direct costs and overhead, $900 is not a big order. It's a moderate order with moderate profit.

Do you know any of his other clients? If so, you might want to check around to see if anything else fishy has been happening lately. If the guy has turned scammer, you might be able to pick up more facts.

I applaud your restraint in not tagging him a scammer at this point: that is the worst thing to call a source. Like calling somebody a child molestor.

Still, it is starting to look very peculiar to me.

If you honestly believe he scammed you, rake the motherfucker over the coals.

If you want to speak, well, you know how to reach me. Good luck.

I don't think hed blow you as a customer for $900. Especially if you have been with him for a couple years. I think if he was going to scam he'd probably do you and evryone else all at once (no partial orders stuff). I have heard of selective scammin, but really I don't think a guy who has been in the biz. for a couple years would do that and I don't think that happens much at all, IMO sources are either a scam or not. I have got a kick ass guy that would ship that whole order (if the tracking #'s say it was delivered only one more time of course) but if this guys been in biz with you for a couple of years you may want to ask him about that - he should be able to send the whole order IMHO.

Simply: someone picked up the $ at his mailbox - your obligation isn't to hand deliver it. The money was outside in his fuckin box somewhere close to him what else are you supposed to do? He should ship the whole thing in this cicumstance.

Well, we already talked about using express from now on and possibly a new addy. he said he will ship my stuff to me for free to offset the cost of express for me. I think the best way is through a funds transfer such as western union or moneygram. THe chance of somebody pimping my money is reduced considerably.

They definitely scan the package at your door but he might just be misinformed and not know. It doesn't mean NECESSARILY that he's scamming you. Do some checking with mods and other customers and give him some time to see if he sends your order.

Just last week I received a shipment from priority mail and the whole time it said number unknown. In February I sent my tax returns to the IRS using delivery confirmation and it never made to them. Read my post about postal workers. I'm not saying that all postal workers suck, but as a whole USPS does SUCK. I bet that the mailman either put it in the wrong box or just pocketed it. Did you hear about the mailman in Boston that got caught stealing Christmas cards and tried to flush them down the toilet in the post office. What an idiot.
