For what ever reason, I can't seem to motivate on leg day. I only hit them once a week, but its like I have no intensity compared to other bodyparts. I go into the the gym fired up for other bodyparts. Any advice would help. I've tried music, working out different times of the day, etc. Don't suggest methyltest tabs or some other powerlifter drug cuz I want to fix this in my head.
Thanks,
moondog

Dude i'll break it down for you like someone did for me years ago....your legs make up the core of your total body power. i guarantee you if you stick to a heavy leg routine for like 3 months your gonna see a jump in your bench. By then it will become habit and you will fucking LOVE leg day i promise you. plus chicks dig legs and ass just like you do

I agree DIver I have read that every where .. that if your legs are worked you will see an improvement on yoru bench .. Also packing on more muscle to your leg area will start the scale upward.. after all you need a solid base to support.. your upper body.. and yeah the nice ass thing helps at the beach....

I know man. I just feel fucked up when I'm staring that squat rack in the face, knowing the next 20 minutes are going to hurt at the level of my soul. It wasn't always like this. I had a relatively minor knee surgery two years ago, and ever since I've been afraid to go balls out. A simple answer would be to find a badass workout partner, but part of me feels I need to kick the son-of-a-bitch's (squat rack's) ass myself. I realize the importance of leg training. That's why this disturbs me so much.

Or think of it this way bro,

Your going to look real damn silly with a big upper body and little noodle legs...

I mean actually leg day is the day you flirt with some heavy ass weight man..there is no other burn in the body comparable to the "Oh shit I cant walk" feeling.

Balance in your bodyparts is just a fraction of bodybuilding bro..let that be your motivation..

I have the same problem. I always feel like I am half assing my legs. I still haven't found any good motivation to get me going. I suppose you just have to want to do it, which is something you can't really force yourself to do. If you are forcing yourself to do it then you obviously don't want to. Anyone else got any more help here, I could use some myself. Peace...Mav

I don't really have any surefire advice, but once I started freeweight squats, I became addicted, due to the results they yield. And I use to fuck around with six plates on the leg press then I worked out with some of the mass monsters at the gym, they made me put six plates on each side and when I found myself pushing this weight, which is enormous to me, I felt a sense of pride which made me want to continue. once those quads start to really develope, you'll love it. good luck

Just to change things up a it, you might try box squats. You may find that you can then squat more than once a week. Pick a box that stops you just before you hit your "sticking point". Do this for 3-4 weeks and then come back to regular squats. Maybe a little variety is all you need.

You just gotta think: "Man, I fuckin' love squats" don't tell yourself that you don't like leg day, tell yourself that you LOVE leg day, and look forward to it.

And remember, the more you do it, the better you'll be at it, the more you'll like it. Each session you'll like legs just that little bit more than last time.

What they said plus think about the feeling your legs get once you've wasted them! To get that feeling again, you've to take your legs to their limit time and time again.

Write down your goals for you legs and committ to adding ten pounds to your squat per week.

I have trouble with my legs too, most especially the left calf. Just gotta be determined that you ain't gonna leave the gym till you hit your leg goal for the week.

Whatever you do, make sure there is little to no food in your stomach when you train legs, or you will not get a good pump and you will feel like puking, I made the fukkin rookie mistake yesterday of eating barbecue at 11:30 then going to do legs at 1:30....not fun at all.
