I got to see Tom Prince train in my gym when he was here on a guest posing run. Im sorry to say that most of what I have heard is true. These pros train half asleep. He was pushing some big weight, but the workout lacked perceivable intensity. ------------------

I saw ronnie train at my gym, he was the guest poser at the local show. And I agree with twisted, lots of weight, but not too much intensity. It was great watching him though, he's a monster. The gym owner, whom is a pretty good aquaintance and mentor to me, put on the show. I was at the gym five times that day to see if ronnie was working out, on the fifth time he was there. Squating with six plates on each side for twelve reps. Maxed out the leg press with 45's including the additional bar in the middle that most leg presses have. Strong guy, but a pretty slow workout, no grunting or anything like that. ------------------

If you saw me hit the incline pressing 225 for 10 in quick fashion and rack it, would you consider that intense training? ------------------ [This message has been edited by Twisted_Steel (edited August 18, 2000).]

I'm not sure, if someone is using intensifiers in their workout such as dropsets, supersets etc. I consider them intense. When people do sets that make them grunt and sweat from just the first working set I consider them intense, but maybe my definition of intense is off I don't know. I suppose I'd have to see your set of 225, if the form was there and it was hard for you then yes. ------------------

wo, wait a minute, you said rack it, then I would say no, you didn't go to failure, perhaps intense but not to the level it could be ------------------ |
