This is a post for anyone willing to help out. I'm fascinated by this concept of the "short" two week cycle. It seems as if many people in the know on the internet tout it as the best way to go for any non-competitive bodybuilder (which, no doubt, is the vast majority of weight lifters). The argument is that a short cycle allows for gains while reducing any possible side effects. The fact that gains are less than what can be achieved in a longer cycle is also seen as an advantage since smaller gains attained chemically are easier for the body to maintain post-cycle. The shorter cycle is also more gentle on the hormonal axis allowing for a faster recuperation also maximizing the gains which are maintained post-cycle. In short, I'd greatly appreciate anyone's views on the difference between the two approaches regarding gains, safety, cost effectiveness, etc. Obviously, if you are experienced in both modes of application I'd greatly appreciate a comparison.

I want to bump this thing back up. Hopefully I'll get more of a response now than yesterday at 2 in the morning.

my personal experience w/ cycles have been very sucessful w/ 9-11 week cycles. PLus if u are taking a long acting test by the time u peak for a short cycle ur just wasting peak duration of the test.. !!

Well we might need to start a whole new board for this topic. Here goes my take.

The short cycle approach assumes that you can trick your body into never slef adjusting for the added test. The idea is to hit your body hard and fast and then go off. This then would eliminate the use of all long esters such as ethanate and cyp. If you were to base your short cycle around test prop or even dbol, your body would clear the drug quick enough to minimilize natural test reduction. FOr example, 50mg of prop and 40 mg dbol per day for 3 weeks would give you decent gains but probably would not alter your natural test production too much. If you stay off for say 2 to 3 wks and repeat you could possibly repeat indefinately. This all ofcourse depends on how quickly your body down regulates natural test production. I know of no way except for weekly doc visits to know how long this may take. If your body adjusts quickly, you have defeated the whole purpose. Many of these short cycles could lead to what a single well planned 12 to 14 wk cycle would achieve. I think for the most part that longer cycles provide the best path towards growth because you give your body enough time to use what it needs to grow. If you are careful and come off your long cycle the right way, your body never knows the difference. Most of my cycles contain both long and short cycles. I base every cycle on some kind of test. Within a 12 week test base, I will vary my intake of dbol, deca, primo or anadrol. My current cycle began with sust and 2 wks of dbol followed by 2 wks of anadrol, nothing other than test for a few weeks then deca for 4...etc.

The key to any cycle is not so much the gear as it is everything else working together. If you can not diet properly, short cycles wil not work. YOu must eat incredibly high amounts of food to get any advantage. Long cycles on the other hand do allow for a few lazy days. The same can be said for your training.

Good luck.

BPP

There are good and bad aspects to both methods. This game is all about finding what works for you. Give it a try and see how it goes.
