Now I am sure that all of us here understand that we convert our food into a useable fuel source that is eventually converted to heat and released to the environment. I have been monitoring my weight on a daily basis and have noticed that I can lose up to 2 pounds while sleeping. Granted I got pee once or twice during the night, but that might amount to about 3 oz. So roughly speaking given the accuracy of the scales I use and such the average will still be about 2 pounds. When you think about it that is a lot of heat energy that is released. I know also from firsthand as alot of you do that we are much hotter than the average human. Hell, my ex-girlfriend told that she had never slept on top of her covers before she slept with me, she said I was like furnace. Back to the subject. So, if we are losing 2 pounds sleeping, not too mention the weight we lose sitting around all day and at the gym, it is a wonder we can put on weight at all. I figure I average on a good day about 5 pounds of food. Out of that 5 pounds of food, I am guessing that 3 pounds or more are used for energy on a daily basis and the rest is excreted or stored for later use. It is a wonder we gain weight at all and can't lose it easier. I find bulking much harder than cutting up. chesty ------------------ IP: Logged |

To put it simply, it came from our waste products. We suddenly stop eating all that food and then all of the stored food gets crapped and pissed out. That is how those adds work, Lose 20 pounds a month, garaunteed you will lose 10 pounds in the first week. If you starve them, and all they do is produce waste products then easily 10 pounds in one week. After that, then you gotta really work for it. chesty ------------------ IP: Logged |

Interesting thought chesty, I usually weigh 4-5 pounds less when i wake up, provided I did not eat in the middle of the night, which, has been an ongoing problem with me sisce I started eq. You have any suggestions on a way to curb your appetite at night, I only sleep for 3 hours at a time the most, so that obviously does not help. IP: Logged |

What I would do if the hunger got to be to much and I was cutting (I am assuming you are too) then have 1 or 2 scoops of protein in water. You can never have enough protein and 8 oz water plus protein should tied you over till your next feeding. Our bodies will wake us when it needs food, so you may be waking every three hours because your body needs food. Just give it a protein drink and hit the rack. And you will still lose the weight. On the flip side if you are trying to gain weight, then eat whenever you can. That is my problem, I am hungry when I wake, but I just can't drag myself out of bed to eat a good meal and go back to bed. chesty ------------------ IP: Logged |
