I bought that guys book a long time ago and it was gospel to me for a long time but I noticed the only time I would gain anything was when I was "taking" something like creatine or whatever the new supplement was. I know now what really held me back was diet, and as you may or may not know, mentzer's views about diet are for shit. He basically said your body will do what it damn well pleases with whatever you put in it, so dont bother with extra calories/protein/carbs! Meanwhile every person on this board pretty much agrees that diet is more important than anything else...and Ive seen you guys bad ass pics, so I think I know who's advice Im gonna take from now on. Thank you for the wake up call!

hey man, I'm glad you see the light, but why'd it take you over 500 posts to realize this? oh well, if you're just starting to watch your diet, welcome to a wonderful new world of energy and power. good luck man.

Who's Mike Mentzer? (j/k)

What a joke that guy is. Don't worry about what you eat? This is actually great news because I've been spending a small fortune on protein supplements. From now on I'm gonna save my money for a feed at the local Winchell's Donut House. I'm embarking on the high GI carbs/saturated fat HIT diet to pack on mass. I'll post photos before and after for you guys to critique.

Mentzer is a fat, philosophy spouting moron.

He forgets to mention his juice cycles, warm up sets etc. 1 set to failure is ridiculous. latest research shows multiple sets and time under tension are keys to growth

Ever notice all Mentzers Twinlab promos & photos were from the late 70's during his competition days (when juiced)? thats because he's now a F'IN SLOB!!

Dan D said it best in an interview when asked about fat mike "he is seriously mentaly ill, his advice if not making gains is to train less-soon you'll train once a year like him"

Mentzers 2 favorite training cycles: the menstrual cycle-once a month & when he is really serious the olympic cycle - once every 4 years

Later!

oh and don't forget his brilliant idea that to gain 10 pounds of muscle per year you only need like 10 extra grams of protein a day

the moron took the calorie equivalent of 10 pounds of muscle proteins and divded by 365- try eating 10 grams above caloric maintainance and see if you gain

all his training advice was ripped from Arthur Jones (Nautilus) , Yates variation ( blood and Guts ) worked for me until i avulsed my quad doing leg extensions (prefatigue before leg presses ). That system does seem to make you strong , but all and all ive gotten better results from more traditional training methods .
Having listened to an interview w/ mentzer he is seemingly a mental patient .... WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT AYN RAND ANYWAY .... now Nitzche , Kafka ,Camus ... thats more like it ...
