I just found out bout this and figured people would be interested. The Olympic Drug Testing group has been trying to come up with reliable tests for Drugs at the Olympics. The latest is the tests for EPO and HGH, etc. Anyways, there are rumors that perfluorocarbon which is a "synthetic blood" that has enormous oxygen-carrying capacity is possibly in use. This could help athletes train harder and carry more nutrients. This would have bodybuilding complications. Anybody ever hear of it or know anything bout it?? Yeah, that stuff's wierd shit. That's the fluid that you may have seen pictures of mice 'breathing'. You know, submerge them in liquid without drowning them. It has (from memory) like 3 times the oxygen carrying capacity of blood. Imagien what it could do for aerobic performnce! IP: Logged |
