I was at the gym today and a fella and his friend came in. They both weighted about 185 lbs., approx. 6 foot tall wearing wife beaters and totally SHAVED. These guys were doing bi's and tri's and F***ing posing in the mirror. I mean come on already! Im not making fun of bodybuilders that weigh 185, but please dont shave and pose in golds gym.

don't take this post wrong but.. theres nothing wrong w/ posing in the mirror. or, to put it better.. there is nothing wrong w/ FLEXING in the mirror. It keeps your muscles full of blood. I do this between sets alot of times. I don't fucking do a posedown or anything like that but yes I do flex whatever muscles I am currently working in between my sets to keep the blood pumpin. I think arnold says something about that in his book also.

They're fucking losers!! bottom line. I'm 232, and would not even think of standing in front of a mirror in a public place and hitting poses for no reason.

If he's flexing AND stretching (which everyone should), give him credit. If he's just hitting poses, he's a dipshit.

I recently joined a large gym after having been working out at college gym. Let me tell you, the shit I have seen since. Idiots everywhere, people posing, dancing, the stupid outfits including spandex. idiots with tanks tops cut low so their nipples are hanging out. Those are the zeros that give bodybuilding the "cheezy" status.

posing..yeah I can see that looking a little stupid...but you should be either flexing or stretching in between sets....I'm about 6'1..195lbs..and I don't think my 17" bi's look stupid when I flex them in between a set

Fuck that!!! I go to a shitty gym where there are alot of little guys. I'm 218 and wouldn't think of posing in the mirror... I laugh when I see it cause it is always some small dude. They may be way more cut then me but, what the fuck? Your asking to get laughed at. That's why you go to the shitty gym, workout, bust your ass, then Juice your ass off, get huge and then go to Golds... People gotta work there way up to that status

Sometimes I like to see my biceps' peak when I'm working arms, and I'll do a double bi pose if I damn well feel like it thank you. (I'm not huge, 6' 200lbs)

I'm one of the biggest guys in my GYM and never even wear a tank top, I don't go to the GYM to show off my body, and I like to keep warm while I work out. Also, I pose at home, some people brought up a good point, when training chest or bi's or even tri's occasionally I hit a mini pose to feel the pump and stretch, but never in front of a mirror just not necesaary

Pose at home...your better off.

Another one I like to see is the guy that shaddow boxes right in front of the bumbbell rack. They kick, bob and weave the whole nine yards.

I will bet anything that given the fact they were only working bi's and tri's just watching them probably looked like watching a pair of flamingos. Probably had skinny legs and were trying to get everyone's attention off the pipe cleaner size of them.

best rule always wear a jumper when you train then you cant flex and pose and waste your own time plus it makes you feel and work muscles more rather than watching them flex more mind muscle connection.

Hey dudes!

I pose all the time during training!

I don't do it to impress others, I do it to practice posing... using a mirror helps because you get your poses perfect then practice without a mirror...

I do this because I have competed and plan to compete again so I need all the practice I can get.

Also I like to see my muscles when they are pumped they look 10 times better

I am not huge only 195lbs on a 5'6" frame but this doesnt look funny! I think lots of you guys are taking yourselves way to seriously.

When I go to the gym I don't see others I am focused and I train my ass off... What are you dudes doing laughing at others...idiots!

Well I think what the others were trying to say is that thy don't like to see little bitty guys flexing in the mirror to show off being that they have nothing to show off. You obviously do so it would be ok . I don't think they were downing flexing generally.

I am not downing flexing in the mirror but like the others it does always seem to be the ones that have nothing to show! As for the last one to do some loud, fuck'd up posing in the mirror disrupting our gym, I ran him off. The gym can be fun but you must respect the others around you.

Two views on this issue. There is this 23 yearold, currently preparing for the open division at the Exacliber in Charleston sc. He will remove his shirt in the middle of our gym,and begin blatant posing. Its truely pathetic. Now, I too am preparing for show, and I do engauge in isometric squeeze and hold techniques inbetween sets, and on occassion in the corner of the gym, I will review my prejudging routine. Clothed.
