Although I am by no means going to stop taking steroids because of this, I though it was an interesting article.

Exposure to anabolic-androgenic steroids shortens life span of male mice.

Adult male laboratory mice were exposed for 6 months to a combination of four anabolic-androgenic steroids of the kinds and at the relative levels to which human athletes and body builders expose themselves. The four steroids included testosterone, two 17-alkylated steroids, and an ester, and they were given at doses that totaled either 5 or 20 times normal androgenic maintenance levels for mice. By the time the survivors were 20 months old (1 yr after the termination of steroid exposure), 52% of the mice given the high dose of steroids had died compared with 35% of the mice given the low dose and only 12% of the control mice given no exogenous hormones (P < 0.001). Autopsy of the steroid-treated mice typically revealed tumors in the liver or kidney, other kinds of damage to these two organs, broadly invase lymphosarcomas, or heart damage, and usually more than one of these conditions. It can be concluded that the life span of male mice is decreased dramatically by exposing them for 6 months to the kinds and relative levels of anabolic steroids used by many athletes and body builders.

There are some major problems with that study. First, no SMART bodybuilder will do six month cycles. Second, six months to a mouse would equate a bodybuilder to doing a cycle lasting about 20 years. If someone were to do a 20 year cycle, I'd expect the tumors, lesions, and numerous other problems. I really don't think that is applicable.

This can't truely be determined because we do not know how long a person will live....there are more bodybuilders who used juice outliving the average beer drinking, fried food eating joe everyday....and since roids have been around for so long, and we do not have an epidemic on our hands, I would have to say that although some facts can show certain things, I personally believe it is all B.S. WHERE ARE ALL THE DEAD USERS FROM THE 50's and 60's? I bet out of the billions of people who have tried them they can't come up with 100 people.

I believe mice have beta 3 type receptors.. humans don't. Mice are much more suseptable to these types of complications than humans. There is a great lesson to be learned from this study... if you are a mouse stay away from excessive steroid use.

Not to mention, 2 different types of 17AA steroids for 6 months is enough to make anyone shit there liver out there ass! I never have nor ever will stack 2 17aa in the same cycle!

They never stated, did they have to bury those fuckers in human coffins after there cycle? Probably not, they prob never gave them clomid coming off so most of them prob lost most of there gains!

One point that failed to be brought up is the fact that they were given (2) 17aa which are commonly known to be the most liver toxic of all AS. Winstol, Anadrol 50 both are 17aa. In addition to this they were given test which is also one of the harsher substances. They might as well shoved a bottle of DNP up his ass and then watched to see what would happen. WTF

One thing to remember as well, give a researcher gov't money and he can make a lab test give the results they want.

Shit, lets look at it this way, sex will kill you no doubt about it. It will shorten your life span, make your thing or hers drip, give you aids and so forth. So I am quite surprised that the gov't has not voted to ban all forms of sex in this country unless you have a permit issued by a health official for the purposes of procreating only. This of course would be done in a sterile environment, with qualified personal to handle, purify and transfer the liquids.

Hell, why not ban breathing even that will kill you now a days.

How can you possibly relate a mouse to a human? Sure, half died at a year old, but have you ever seen a 100 year old mouse? Hell no. They proably live for like two or three years tops anyways.Not to mention that the drugs these mice were given were meant for people, not mice. What if these guys were giving these mice anadrol-50 and sten? Along with the other two for six months....that's animal abuse if you ask me. Although, if i had to choose, I definently would rather be the mouse with the steroids...

Hmmmm. Makes me wonder why men have shorter life expectancies than women in all cultures? I always thought it was a lack of (protective) estrogen, but now I gotta wonder if too much test could also be a contributing factor. Who cares. Live hard, die young and leave a good-looking body. I don't know the aging process in mice but maybe they were like teens for humans... + 6 months..insane...
