Work them hard once or twice a week. Good ab definition is all about diet. If you want them to show, you gotta diet down for a while. -------------- Bossman IP: Logged |

It's not necessarily your ab routine thats the problem.More than likely its your diet/cardio routine.List what your doing if you want some of the vets to help you. IP: Logged |

if you want your abs to bulge out, you have to do weighted resistance. not that 4 sets of 100 crunches. use resistance and try to hit failure around 10-15 reps... ------------------ "The greatest risk is not taking one." IP: Logged |

Getting your abs to grow requires heavy weights. Your ab muscles are similiar in their composition to your hamstrings. That means reps as low as 5 with heavy weights. And like everyone else said, it takes some serious diet discipline in addition to cardio. IP: Logged |

bump what the other guys said. Abs are the hardest muscle to want to work for some reason, but they are the easiest to work grow and define. While dieting, try doing your cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, then wait an hour before consuming any calories. The purpose for this is to cause your body to burn calories for energy from stored fat. After exercise ends the body continues to burn calories for an hour after. Waiting to eat or drink anything but water for that hour will cause your body to continue to use the stored bodyfat for energy. Peace bro. IP: Logged |

The first thing in the morning rule is just another one of Bill Phillips brainwashing techniques to sell his methods. I used to buy into it until I read a study published about a year ago to negate that old theory. The truth is, all you need is for your blood sugar to level out. So lets say you ate 3 hours ago, and you are JUST STARTING to feel the initial feelings of hunger. Your blood sugar levels are now basically identical to when you first wake up in the morning. So you are now at the ideal time to burn fat most efficiently. IP: Logged |

I have also been experimenting with such a method. I even feel cardio is best done at night when Testosterone levels are higher and after a short fast at the end of the day. Say your last meal was at 6:00pm go jogging at 9:00pm. That way you burn fat for energy and you sleep better because of being tired. ------------------ IP: Logged |

No, I do believe there is merit in the cardio in the morning. For one I think 6 to 8 hours of no eating is better than 3, another by doing it in the morning you set yourself up to a whole day of higher metabolism and activity. I used to run in the mornings when in high school and it got me lean as hell now cardio in the late afternoons or early evenings just don't have the same effect. IP: Logged |

I gotta believe the morning on empty stomach is best, I train abs three times a week, always with heavy weight. One warm up set 0f 30 for crunches, then heavy weight until failure for 5 sets, failure usually around 13 -15 reps on last 2 sets. However like the other bros have said, without the proper diet and cardio you will get nowhere. ------------------ IP: Logged |

you need to have weight ressistance. Yes diet will lean your abs oou but to build deep abs you need to use weights when you crunch very simple. As far as cardio in the am on an empty stomache with clen or some type of fat burner does indeed work to get you leaner quicker but again weights build deep abs. IP: Logged |
