If you read my previous post about my swollen throat. I think i have narrowed it down to a swollen thyroid. Has anyone had this problem. Should i be worried? IP: Logged |

boxer, your best bet would be to go to our doctor and do thyroid function tests on you. he will feel your throat and if he feels a goiter, then you will probably have to have a thyriod scan ultrasound, it can be nodules in your thyroid or just swollen lymph nodes but either way you should see your doc. don't fuck with your thyroid good luck IP: Logged |

if its under your chin,it is likely your submental lymph node, infection?A simple cbc will confirm this,if your white blood cell count is up,you have an infection. Also,it is very hard to feel the lymph node when you are healthy. IP: Logged |

I'm glad to see that you at least read my post and gave it some consideration. By the way, good call tucker. However, now that I know the location I would have to agree that it probably is a swollen lymph node and NOT a thyroid problem. Typically, it is just due to the inability cope with the overwhelming metabolic waste and it gets irritated and swollen. Try warm compresses with some sort tissue massage toward the direction of the heart where it will enentually end up anyway to eventually rid itself from the body.
