I have been reading the posts lately about parcels being sent and signatures and all that stuff. Everyone is in an uproar about signing for their gear. I know how the government works and I know that it takes time for everyone to stop falling over each other before a "bust" team can be assembled. So I'm reasoning that if your gear is being sent from point A to point B with an estimated delivery time of 1 to 2 weeks at the latest, and it arrives 30 days later, THEN you should be alarmed and/or immediately drop it in the mailbox with "REFUSED" written on it. Is this the correct way to look at the situation?

Well uh, NO!!!! I've had wedding invitations take 3 months to travel 40 miles, birthday presents never show at the destination, etc. The post office handles a mind blowing amount of mail, and lets face it, their not the most efficient organization in the world. A package that takes long to arrive doesn't neccessarily mean its been stopped, if your worried about that use Fed Ex and get tracking numbers. Then if the package sits in your home posts office for a while you'll have a better chance of knowing whats going on.

You raise a valid point, but the chances of a package getting delayed or lost are very slim. I am a mail order addict, where since I had money to spend, I was buying at least half through the mail. I have never had anything take more than two weeks. Within the last couple years alone, the longest the usps took to deliver something from anywhere was a week. So my point here is that if something is THAT late, I'd rather lose $200 in gear than pay in a different way.

regardless if you used a fake name or not...the dea or customs will get you if they wanted.....just because you did not sign for it doesn't mean sh*t. If they want you, You've been busted....don't sweat it, sign for it.
