I agree with Diver, go to the doctor immediately. You don't want to take a chance you tore anything. If you did, you need surgery immediately. If the muscle goes unchecked and it is torn, it will fuse itself and heal wrong....essentially you will have totally fucked yourself because it can't be reapaired correctly once it fuses. Kevin Levrone told me himself if it was'nt for the advice of us bros, his career would have been over.....it can't hurt to get it checked. Don't be foolish....I'm stressing this to you bro...DON'T BE FOOLISH. GO GET IT CHECKED IMMEDIATELY. Hopefully you did'nt do anything.

Completely speaking from experience, I just 3 weeks ago ruptured my pec insertion ( the point at which it attaches to the humerus).
Let me ask you a couple of q's:
Is there any bruising?
Is there any noticable muscular deformity?
If yes to either one-there is more than likely a partial or complete tear of the origin of the pec where it attaches to the sternum.
The problem here is complex. On the one hand, you don't have ins.-that's not going to help if surgery is warranted. But, as far as I am concerned, the finding of a orthopaedic surgeon who would want to be "bothered" doing it would concern me more. The reason I say this is because after going to the ER, the on staff MD refused to do anything but "let it heal on it's own". I told him I was a Chiropractor and an avid bodybuilder and refused to to hear his B.S.. Anyhow he called the on staff Ortho-and he refused to do it also!!! I got really pissed off, restated my case and low and behold the next day I went in for surgery.
There isn't a hell of a lot you can do if there is a tear just short of surgery (sorry bro). My recommendation however is to not allow it to tighten up too much and to keep up with ice and perhaps some of the anti-inflammatories. I have found it is in fact the swelling that hurts more than the tear itself.
I was told 4 weeks before I could see patients, and 3 months before I could go to the gym. With the surgery keep in mind I was at it in the gym and at work in less than two weeks. Granted, not even close to my regular routine, but the moral is not to let the muscle belly atrophy too much thus hindering the overall range of motion that you had before the surgery.

If you have any q's I'll be back later on the board, or just e-mail me.
I hope this helped a little bit.
