Hey bros, I've read many posts about eating clean and I've talked to my business associate (who has 20 years of gear experience) about fat gain during the cycle. I know cals should be somewhere between 4000-5000 a day. Eating clean, I assume, is low fat. But still with so many calories, isnt there a significant fat gain? If so, how much have you (those of you who "eat clean") gained during a cycle? Just curious because nutrition isn't really discussed that much on the board. I know i'll get flamed, I'm prepared Thanks ------------------ "I'll always be number one to myself"....Moses Malone IP: Logged |

you know you only need extra 100 calories on top of what your body uses and depending on your activity lewel to gain a pound of muscle. get your fat % checked and go from there, when figuring calories only count your lean mass, it is easy just calculate it out, they say to gain your lean mass x 20 theres your calories needed then from there configure your fat protein carbs IP: Logged |

when they say eat clean, it means don't eat junk food like pizza and potato chips as your source of calories. and yes, when you do up your caloric intake significantly, you do put on fat regardless of how clean you eat, though eating healthy minimizes that. hope that helps ------------------ "The greatest risk is not taking one." Yes, it does work but getting 5000 clean calories per day without eating a little junk is hard for some people to do. When bulking I always end up eating some junk food but I try to make at least 80% of my calories from good, healthy foods. Peace...Mav IP: Logged |

bro lots of protien lots of carbs but don't be paranoid about the fat...actually your 4000-5000 calories is a bit low 6000 to 9000 are about right for optimum growth fat consumption actually becomes important as you taper dosages and come off gear as eating too lean during this time will slow the recovery of your natural test.....don't eat bacon by the pound but whole eggs...flax..peanut butter...steak...milk etc eat plenty of things like that. hope that helps ------------------ IP: Logged |

Don't eat 9000 cals bro, you are not big enough, if you do you will put on way too much bodyfat and you will be sluggish. I don't know how many of us could actually consume that many in a day, I can't, wouldn't even try it, I am not big enough either. I would think you could grow fine on 5000. I ate clean on my first cycle, with some junk included I ate 4000 clean cals, maybe 500-1000 cals of junk. The junk was mostly like fruit loops, some cookies, bk or mcdonald's once in a while. I put on 30 pounds or so. Also eating clean is not necessarily low fat, you can eat all the low fat and no fat shit you want, if it is loaded with sugar, it is even worse than the fat. You need some fat I would say 20%of your total calories, that's where I try to keep it. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Decaman (edited August 11, 2000).] IP: Logged |

when bulking it is very hard to eat clean like it was said earlier...if your trying to get 5,000 calories it is almost impossible to eat clean think of the caloric breakdown like this each gram of protein = 4 calories use this to figure out your daily breakdown...\ you will have to eat fat its almost a give me ------------------ IP: Logged |

I WOULD SAY IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO EAT CLEAN..... TO GET THE NUTRIENTS YOUR BODY NEED, YOU NEED TO EAT A VARIETY OF FOODS.......TO GET THE PROTEIN YOU NEED, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO EAT SOMETHING WITH SOME FAT IN IT. THE BEST THING TO DO IS TRY TO LOST SOME OF THE FAT YOU GAINED. JUST LIKE TAKING JUICE, YOU GAIN WATER BUT YOU HOPE TO DEPLETE IT ALSO. MY .02! IP: Logged |
