Thanks thats what I thought must supplements are crap I went in to get some protien and it was on sale for 99cent I said what the hell.

It is a nonessential amino acid, that was once thought to be good enough to substitute for GHB. Quite popular in the early 90's, it can produce a calming effect, similar to that which can be found if one consumes tryptophan. (turkey dinner comes to mind). Side effects can include - hyperventilation, rapid heartbeat, and panic.
