The late, great Dan Duchaine said that using ephedrine or clen causes a downgrade of T3. It is a safety mechanism b'cause your body wants to be 98.6 not 100+,so it stops producing the 5-deiodinase enzyme which converts T4 to T3, so your body temp drops. Thats why people add T3 to their stack when cutting there is also a down regulation of the beta receptors, but this is stronger with clen (thats why it only works good 2-4 weeks) A low carb diet also lowers body temp, the low ATP levels cause T4 to pool outside the liver and there is no energy to transport the T4 inside to be converted to T3 (although I believe there may still be some peripheral tissue conversion) To tell if your temp has dropped, take your body temp with a digital thermometer for 5 days, first thing when you wake up & take an avg, it should be between 97.8 & 98.2 then start your ephedrine and watch your morning temp, when it is consistantly below 97.8 you have started to decrease T4 conversion to T3. Stop the ephedrine or add T3 unil daily temp comes back up, start with 25mcg/day and don't use longer than 4-6 weeks Later! P.S. this info was what Dan D thought was happening and how to correct it, if current research or thinkig has proven different, pleasew feel free to correct me and not flame me [This message has been edited by supreme (edited August 10, 2000).] [This message has been edited by supreme (edited August 10, 2000).] IP: Logged |

One other way to keep ephedrine or Clen working is to add Zaditen, this is a drug that is used to stimulate appetite, but it also causes anupregulation of beta-receptors thus making ephedrine or Clen effective again? I have never used it, since it makes you tired & increases appetite, not what you want when cutting up IP: Logged |

the Zaditen is supposed to work well but it isnt the easiest thing to come across and makes you sleepy as hell (antihistamine).WHo knows-maybe the clen and Zaditen would counteract each others CNS effects. ------------------ IP: Logged |

SUPREME has it on the money. Chronic use of Ephedrine will cause T4 to be converted to rT3 which is an inactive form of T3. This is a protective mechanism to lower thermogenesis and protect body proteins. IP: Logged |
