Just wondering when (while off gear?), how long, and how often. I've been told to take a week off every 4-8 weeks.

I have one of the worst recovery rates ever so if I don't take a week off after a few months I usually break down my immune system and get sicker than a dog.Totally sucks.

I'm with you...The biggest mofo at my gym (same guy who used to bust my balls if I wasn't going balls out) told me I needed a week or two off, because he thought I looked kinda run down.

Yeah, it is hard but I try to take a week off every couple of months. It sucks though because getting back in at full force is always hard. Peace...Mav

Fenner definitely take the week off. You will come back stronger and sharper. Full week off every 3 months and train hard the week before the planned rest. I've seen athletes even go as far as 2 weeks break every so often.

Fener, I don't think it will hurt at all. A week of rest will probably give your body time to level out and it will give your cortisol a chance to come back down. It would help though if you could take some clen while on vacation to keep cortisol suppressed. Peace...Mav

I have taken up to a month off. I let my body tell me when it is time. Sometimes I go for 12 months straight, other times it is only 3 or 4 months. Just depends

I just took off a week while I was in New York and I came back 4 pounds heavier and feeling much stonger. It's definately a good idea. I'm sore as hell today though.

I have not planned any time offs they seem to come up on there on. I am sure to pull, twist, and/or strain something about every 3 months which forces me to take a week off or cut back.

I just took a week off, when I came back I was just the same as when I took off, having good workouts. I take a week off when I feel like my body is tired off all the poundage I put it through at the gym. I think you should just listen to your body......when it needs a break, take a break. Not to long, or else its a bitch to get back in the swing of things.

thanks bros i suspected it. I will take clen on vacation but i was plannig to cheat with my diet. Now i'm 7% bf and ireally struggled to get here. I 'm sick and tired of tuna and chicken. I want to eat pizza hot, dogs icecream, and a shitload of junk food. I 'm so afraid to lose my abs though. Do you think heavy dose of chitosan all week long will help? later

Every time I take a week off, my training is just awesome. I once took two off and almost went insane, but I came back about 3lbs lighter and within two weeks I gained back that 3lbs plus another 2 or 3. I just wasn't sure to take that approach anymore.

Do you all wait until well after a cycle? Maybe 4 or 5 weeks to avoid a total crash.

Taking a week off once every 3 months is definitely good. I came back feeling more relaxed, stronger and bigger. I feel my muscles getting fuller as well. It's also good to stop living in the gym, save your money and live your life showing off your muscles once in a while. The only struggle I get is the motivation to start back on a heavy regiment... you start to question if this will ever end or not and you start wondering if you really want to do this forever.

don't get used to the easy gains made off the gear, trainhard and eat right and then take adaquate time off from the gear so that your receptor sites can fully clear. then the next time you hit the stuff it will be more of a shock. don't become gear dependant like too many bodybuilders out there that never learned to eat train and rest right.

good luck

I usualyl take a wee or 2 of every few months right before i switch a training routine up. I have found that my joints feel much better, i come back stronger more energy and mroe of a focus. Also you need to give the body a rest like the others said in order for you to grow

Taking a week or two off every 3 months can be a good thing. I usually plan them around a get out of town or vacation break. At my age and work, several breaks a year keep me from burn out and I feel great when I return.

Most of the time, after a cycle I'll take
2-3 months of I'll lose a little strength but when I come back I'll be stronger then ever. I'm weird like that though.

Taking time off is a good idea for anyone. The length of time however depends on each person individually. Some will feel rejeuvinated after a few days where others may take a week or more.

As you well know, or at least should. The more taxation you put on your body, the more your immune system is depleted. This goes for any type of excercise, but is even more so with frequent aerobic activity as well.

All in all though, the benefits of it all most definately outweighs any of the cons that are a result from it.

MY BODY TELLS ME WHEN I NEED TIME OFF.
IVE BEEN OFF NOW FOR 5 DAYS AND I FEEL
BETTER THAN EVER! IF YOU PROGRAM YOUR
MIND TO REALIZE THAT ITS OK TO REST
WHEN YOU FEEL RUN DOWN YOU WILL RECOUPE
FASTER. IVE TAKEN TIME OFF TO REST BEFORE
AND ALL I DID WAS WORRY THAT IT WASNT THE
RIGHT THING TO DO! END RESULT BEING NO REST
AT ALL. SO WHEN U DECIDE TO TAKE IT OFF,
RELAX AND DONT STRESS OVER IT. YOULL FEEL
GREAT WHEN U GET BACK! THEN KICK ASS...

When I say every day, some days are just working on little things like forearms, abs, hitting the bag, cardio, etc.

hey guys a little confused: taking a week off means you don't hit a body part for 2 weeks right? Cause today i 'll hit lowerbody tomorrow upperbody and i 'll leave for vacation and come back one week later. So do i have to train when i'm back home or wait one more week? Thanks
