Since I moved I have been working about 52 hours a week at my new job, but I have a hard time finding time to train. What do you do?

I work 40-42 hours per week and it already seems a little tricky...I'd find a new job, unless you really like the company/pay.

Bottom line is you have to want it, I am not saying you don't, I am saying in general, when you work those hours you really have to want to be in the gym. I live way out on long island and work in manhattan, I used to get up at 4:30, got to gym for 1/2 hour of cardio, come back, eat, shower, in car by 5:45. Get to work at 7 work until 4 or 5, sit in 2 hours of traffic. Get home go straight to gym for 1 hour or 1 hour and a half, come home, eat. By now it is 9 , then i would either shower and get ready for work the next day(make my 3 meals I was taking with me) or 2x a week go back and do abs. I was not getting enough rest, but if I didn't go to the gym I would get depressed, so which is worse? Anyway, it sucks but it can be done. Sunday was a day to sleep all day. Thank god I am laid off, now I can train and resst properly. Hang in there bro and get a routine going, that will help.

At this stage of my career (turnin' into an old fuck) I simply have to find a way to balance the two because quitting/changing jobs is not an easy task. Fortunately I don't have to deal with a wife/live-in (at least not anymore ) and I have any other responsibilties (like kids). For me, I work, workout, eat and sleep and that's about it. I still find the time to chase pussy (which is mandatory). Put simply, it's solitary lifestyle my man!

I've found that getting up at 4:30 am and hitting the gym before work does the trick for me.

Decaman hit it on the head. I'm on call 24-7 and I'm scheduled 50 hours a week (salary sucks!). It's very hard for me to find time because I'm way to frigging lazy to go in the AM before work. Really not even an option. I go most of the time at lunch since my gym is right down the street from me. I take a 2 hour lunch and it works out pretty well. Oh and if I didn't have enough shit on my hands try throwing in a newborn that's due just about any day now. Yes I'm shitting my pants and wondering how I'm going to manage everything.
LAter,
Green

simple fact...it is a b*tch...i work 50+ hours a week in biz development for a tech. firm so it's kill or be killed..in addition, i'm earning my mba so i take classes at night and on weekends (thank god for Internet classes) - so if i'm at the gym at 10pm on a weeknight..that's normal and i try to do cardio here and there to even it all out....if misery loves company, you got a ton of it.
good luck

Thank yourselves lucky guys, I work 70+ hours a week of hard manual labour, I still work out 5 days a week - you have to have a positive mental attitude and your body will adapt to your schedule.

I used to have a job where I worked 50 hours a week. Now that I am laid off I have noticed much more gains in muscle mass do to the extra sleep and less activity. I guess that is about the only good thing to being laid off. Peace...Mav

I work up to 60 hours a week, I go in directly after work and spend 1-2 hours in the gym 5-6 days a week. Going to the gym is not an option for me! If I am doing something else I wonder why I didn't go to the gym? I mean, if I have time to sit on my ass and watch a 2 hour movie, I have time to go to the gym.

I work close to 50 hours a week too, and have a hard time training like I want to. But since I have a very good paying job, I will work my ass off at work and put training second because I have no ambition of ever being a competitive bodybuilder. Don't get me wrong I love to workout, just don't have the time to put into it like I really want to. I still get in 4-5 days a week, only about 45 mins-1 hour of training per session. I usually only have time to train at night at about 10 pm, when I get off work.

I've put in 72 hours a week (all night shifts) every week for 2 years since i started my security business. For me the gym is a necessity. If i don't hit it 3 or 4 times in a week i might as well curl up and die. When i'm working at night and running around like a blue arsed fly, there's only one thing i'm craving(apart from water, food and my girlfriend, but she's optional)and that's the gym.I will never, ever stop training,it's a part of my soul.

I work 6 days a week 50-60 hrs a week. Like Green I work out on my lunch break. take about 1.5 hrs. Gym is only a couple of miles from work. My cardio is done about 4:00 in the morning. Have to have afternoons free, 3 kids and I do a lot with them. Still do about 2 or 3 NPC contests a year.
