If you need something different to do Friday in the gym....try super or trifeca sets of 100's. 10 sets of 10. I was feeling real mean and nasty tonight so my buddy and I hit the following: 10 x 10 @ 245 Squats Then jumped to: 10 x 10 @ 50 Double cable bicep curls Try this the next time you have a lagging body part. Hell yes! I do 10x10 as well but I only do one excercise per day 3 days in row. 10x10 squats I try to pick a weight that on the last 2-3 sets I am geting 3-4 reps, pause 1-2 more, pause 1-2 more until 10. It is BRUTAL. IP: Logged |

Good Post. We've all been there.Dreaded Plateaus.Just when you've conquered one bodypart, another plateau is lirking around the corner. I like to use strip sets. or say for EX: Seated military press 225 for 10 pause reps side laterals @70lbs.for 10 reps bent laterals @80 for 10 reps All one right after the other.rest then repeat 2 more times.VERY INTENSE.Plus a great time saver I don't know about that squatting thing though,I can't do much more after a set than catch my breath and hope not to puke. But after that, sometimes to shock our quads we'll do this Hack Squat 5 plates for 15 reps, then right to Leg Presses @800-1000 lbs. for as many as possible for 3 sets. These are done on old archaic type machines that are harder and put more stress on the muscles. Not those Icarian and the like pieces of crap. Put it this way, when you do 5 plates and a 25 on each end and do 10 ass to the ground reps with no wraps and you can talk about how your day went at the same time,That really doesn't afford the stress like the older machines, but then again I've only seen these in newer gyms like Powerhouse etc. I train in a huge converted warehouse gym owned by a top level national competitor who has a penchant for making you train harder IP: Logged |
