![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've seen the reccomended dosages for protein intake during cycles, but how much lower should it be on your off time since protein synthesis is not nearly as high? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() if you decide though to do a ketogenic diet then be sure to bump it up to 1 gram per pound of bodyweight or you will lose muscle IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() actually I heard that you should keep your protein intake about the same for a month after your cycle.afterwards taper it down. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I always hear 1 - 1.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight. I keep mine at 1.5 to be safe during cycle and immediately following. Before I was at about 1 gram per lb. Everyone is different though. In my opinion, you can't get too much protein. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I always take in around 1.5 - 2 grams of protein per lb. of bodyweight... on or off. If I take any less off, I feel I'll lose what I've gained. I keep my calories up to around 4,000 a day (if I can), whether I'm on or not. I wrestle year round, and therefore can't really go on "cutting" or "bulking" cycles. So I keep real strict year round, because my appearance in the ring is very important. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you know in advance when you will be starting your next cycle, you might try tapering protien intake down to about .5 grams/lb, and hold until 2 weeks out. Then taper down over the next week to .3g, and two days before cycling, eliminate protien and reduce calories to survival levels only. On the first day of cyling, double your calories and incorporate protien at the rate of 1 gram/lb. for the first week, then to 1.5 g/lb for the second week, and end at about 2g/lb. for the duration of the cycle. It is my belief that there is some benefit to strategic protien cycling while on the juice, but since I have not tried this, I cannot say for sure if it would be effective in the real world. As soon as I am able to cycle again, I will incorporate a protien cycling approach thatI feel might enhance effectiveness, and I will keep you posted as to the results. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The rule thumb is 1g. per pound of body weight. I prefer at least 2g. If your body doesn't need it , it will crap it out anyway. ------------------ "Pain is weakness leaving the body>>>" IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm suprised no one has mentioned the carbohydrate factor. carbohydrate is protein sparing (when you eat carbs your body is less likely to convert the protein you eat into glucose). The more carbs you eat, the less protein you need. Because I am a low-carb fan, I eat 1.5g/lb/day of protein.... Puc ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I try to stay around 1g/pound. Just curious if any of you practice protein cycling, there was an article about it on here a while back. Gonna start that after I'm done with this cycle and curious if anyone has done it and has opinions. ----------------- Bossman IP: Logged |
