Ok, I have taken calculus but I can't figure this shit out. I have 5 boxes of Humatrope. The outside of each box says 4 U.I(1,33mg). each box contains two vials. I thought an insulin needle is 50 iu = 1/2 cc. When mixed I only have 1 day per box??? Thanks for the help. IP: Logged |

Humatrope comes in 2 vial, when combined you'll have 4 iu, How may units are you using daily? why are using an insuline needle, they come in 1 ml (and the marking outside the tube refers to insulin units) later IP: Logged |

I GET IT IN 15IU WITH 5CC OF FLUID SO 5CC/15IU= .33CC=1IU SO ON THE INSULIN PIN I DRAW UP 33 UNITS BUT ITS ONLY 1IU OF GH IP: Logged |

The vial you have has 4ius total. Insulin needle is units of insulin. You have to use regular needle with this vial. If you want to use insulin needle, you have to buy to vial that comes in 15ius. 1cc insulin needle, meaning you have to take about 1 1/2 cc. Two shots! ------------------ IP: Logged |

IU (International Units) is an arbitrary unit assigned to a compound, usually hormones, when conventional methods of measuring are not available. IUs are used for biological activity and such. Here's the important part, and I don't mean to yell, but: IU/ml (the concentration) will vary based on the substance. If you have an insulin syringe, the IU markings are only good for insulin and NOTHING else. Use the ml markings and work from there. I shall get off my soapbox now. IP: Logged |

Depends on the concentration of the GH you have. Example: 5mg=15iu(concentration as listed on the Humatrope box) The dilute i got was for 5ml(same as 5cc). So, mixed you have 5cc(or 5ml) containing a total of 15iu. On an insulin needle 100iu=1cc(or 1ml) by "volume". Therefore you would need to inject a full cc for 1 daily dose of 5iu for a total of 3 days-not even a weeks need. IP: Logged |

2Thick cleared this up for me before... I always thought that 1cc = 1ml = 100iu it's not 1cc = 1ml YeS! 100iu = 1cc = 1ml for insulin since by coincidence insulin as a concentration of 100iu per ml... GH is different.. iu is not a measure of volume.. it is a measure of concentration.. Thanks 2Thick IP: Logged |

IU is not a measure of volume. It is also not a measure of concentration. It IS an arbitrary unit of biological activity. You cannot weigh it on a scale. You cannot measure it in a syringe, graduated cylinder, or a beaker. You must test for it through a standardized protocol. IU/cc or IU/ml is a concentration, i.e. amount of something in an certain amount of volume. IU will vary with every biological substance that it is used for. Why is it used? Well, some substances cannot be purified all the down to just that material. It would either be destroyed through processing, become chemically unstable, be too small for practical handling purposes, etc. But through certain tests, we can find out how much is in there by determining its "activity". I appreciate everyones responses. However, I still do not know if I should use an insulin needle to measure iu's or if the (5) UI's I have will result in any gains!! Maybe I should dump it and go back to test. I have had realy good gains this cycle. HELP IP: Logged |

I simply meant that in order to get 5iu from 5mg(15iu) Humatrope in a 5cc dilute you would need to draw one full cc in order to get 5ius. The amount held by a 100iu insulin needle if you read right on the needle, at 100iu mark, it also says 1ml..... IP: Logged |
