Is menoxadil the active ingrediant in nizoral that everyone talks about? IP: Logged |

Nope, Nizoral has Ketoconazole (an antifungal agent that some people say prevents hairloss). Minoxidil is the active ingedient in Rogaine and is a different drug. This brings a question to mind. I have seen various posts/ reports from web sites/ word of mouth/ statements that nizoral prevents hairloss by interacting with DHT or DHT receptors on the scalp. Does anyone have any concrete information about Nizoral's ability to prevent hairloss or is this an AS users pipe dream?? Shit, I use the stuff myself to be safe but have yet to see any scientifically-based reports. -Dihydroxytoonterone IP: Logged |

Damn i'm a moron!!! I bought 3 bottles of minoxidil because I thought it would compete for DHT receptors or something like nizoral is said to do and was experimenting with it as an ance treatment as some people have tried nizoral. IP: Logged |
