ive been working out for 2 years, i am 17, 61" and 200 lbs 8% body fat....my chest is the most lagging body part...it has with, but it has no thickness, where it bulges out your breast....i want to train chest 2x per week...one day pump, one day heavy...when i say pump, that means enough exercises, high reps, to give my chest an extreme pump..using 3-4 different exercises, for a total of 10 sets, and keeping reps 12-20.. and when i mean heavy, that means a little less sets , 6-10 reps, to tear tissue down..now the following routine, i will use only 6 weeks, then ill change it to regular routine..now which routine is best, to make my chest more thick, and impressive.. ROUTINE 1 monday: heavy chest workout, for muscle tear friday: pump chest workout, for aching pump ROUTINE 2 monday: pump chest workout tues: friday: pump chest workout
tues: friday: heavy chest workout ROUTINE 4 monday: the following week from this routine, id do pump chest workout, monday and friday, and repeat the routine, of starting to do heavy chest workout again on tuesday....

I say just hit every five days or so. On the days that you work chest blast it with flat bench, then quickly move to incline presses. Do 3 or 4 sets of dumbell flies after that, incline or flat. Finally, do shoulder presses, right after that. Always work out with intention of blasting your muscles to pieces, pumps are nice but they don't build muscle. IP: Logged |

Get away from the barbell for a few months. Use Incline Dumbells and flys exclusively. You do not need two chest days per week unless you are juicing (for which you are too young). You will notice a difference. ------------------ http://2thick.elitefitness.com IP: Logged |

Listen to 2thick papi.I didn't touch a barbell for close to 2 years. My chest workout is dumbell press flat bench followed by flyes followed by dumbell press on an incline bench. You will build an absolutely awesome chest using dumbells,i put it down to the extra stretch you get with the dumbells that you can't get with the old barbell.Good luck. I used to have the same prob. Now I combine dumbells and barbell workout, and that seems to be good thing. With dumbell press you put that extra strech on muscle an hit 'em more than with just barbell presses. I train chest once a week, and only somethimes, when I am on heavy cycle I do them twice a week. Give dumbells a try. And I think that doing chest twice a week (off juice) can leed you to overtrain. IP: Logged |

i agree with 2thick about using dumbells but i don't agree for two months. work the dumbbells into your chest routine.... once a week, not twice a week..even if you are juicing, which i hope to God you are not! ------------------ IP: Logged |

It still amazes me how everyone loves to start with the Ego Exercise Flat Bench Press first. Go with Incline Dumb's first then Flat Bench Barbell. Finish with Weighted Dips...enough said. Unless your on the sauce..drop the 2 day a week chest thing.....Once a week is fine if you do it right. I finally dropped down to 2 sets Incline Dumb, 2 sets Flat Barbell, 2 sets Dips and my chest is better , bigger and stronger than ever. Again, 10 sets...I don't think so unless your counting your warm up sets. Natural-Mike IP: Logged |
