Personally I enjoy meat too much to cut it out completely but there is no reason whatsoever that you cannot make the same gains you would make while eating meat. I didn't eat meat for a few months at one point and felt great.

I'm the worlds best carnivore! I'd be in a world of hurt if I had to cut meat out of my diet. I'm sure you can do it but it's going to be a lot harder. Later, Green

Your body doesn't discriminate about where it gets its protein from. To your body it is just a chemical. Proof?
Desmond Howard- Jacksonville Jags, Carl Lewis- 9 Gold Medals, Michael Bennette- World Champion Heavy Weight amateur Boxer. All world class vegetarian athletes. You can throw in Larry bird and Robert Parish.

It would be hard to get enough protien on a veg. only diet. If you can consume milk protien that would be better. Red meat, poultry and fish are great protien sources. Turkey has the most complete amino acid profile of any protien source.

I eat lots of the above. I am a carnivore.

I have chicken and steak thawing in my sink as we speak. I use my grill about every other day.

I am one too and I gained 8 lbs after I gave up meat. I never expected to and I don't know how. The only part I can't get past is low carbing to cut up. It is damn near impossible. It will be a year in October.

So long as you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian, you can get adequate protein. A vegan would have a problem. BTW, Bill Pearl didn't become a vegetarian until after his competetive career ended.

aky, since i have a feeling that your're an apna or muslim, i also know it's tough to train hard and stay vegetarian. (both my parents are). i have a feeling you know what dal is (lentils)- eat a shit load of that- it's full of protein and fibre too. beans are also chalk full of protein. get yourself some big buckets of protein (5 or 6lbs) too, and try to drink a good amount of skim milk every day.
