How many of you guys have done this? I have been working out for over 8 years and this has never happened before, now this is the second time in the last few months. I go to take a 45lb plate off the bench bar forgetting about the little 10lb plate and it comes crashing down on my foot. I know people see it so I try to act cool like it didn't hurt but my foot is really throbbing like I broke the thing. Just wanted to see if anyone else has done this. IP: Logged |

Hell yeah bro, It hurts like hell. It's easy to do when all the plates are the same color. Say goodbye to any toenails that were hit. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I got the story. About two weeks ago some of the mass monsters at my gym invited me to do legs with them, I was ecstatic, working out with the big boys. After a pretty intense set I was very dizzy as I unloaded the leg press, and I dropped a forty five on my big toe. I just looked at one of my buddies and smiled, it went numb instantly, it was funny, for the first half hour. I also continued to do five sets of ass to the floor squats before leaving. I was afraid to puss out on the big boys, but they told me after how impressed they were. When I got home and took my shoes off I discovered one very bloody sock. So it was funny in the long run, it wasn't broke, just sore for a few days. Take it easy guys and thanks for reading. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I dropped a 45 on my foot not paying attention pulling it off the bar after an intense set. We were doing circuit training so we were moving quick in-between sets changing the weights. I broke my big toe. Hurt like a bitch! Only took once to slow it down and pay attention. I wish it were a dime! Later, Green IP: Logged |

Here one to top that! Ok... Im doing standing calf raises with the bar on my back in the smith machine (on a platform). 10 plates (5 per side) and doing high reps, full stretch, no bouncing , looking good! I can see people are looking, and Im feeling like the MAN! So I finish the set and turn the handle and hook it back up (Im on the platform, so Im locking it into the very top peg), and step down and away. All of a sudden KKKAAAAABBBOOOOMMMM!!!! I didnt have it locked in right or something and it fell from the top of the machine all the way to the floor. IP: Logged |

As a kid I dropped a rusted chunk of sewer drain on my left big toe. A jagged point of it pierced thru the toenail and caused enough pain for me to develop reflexive action when I drop stuff. If I drop things now my feet are out of the way before the object can hit. You just reminded me of the way the wound stretched with the toenail as it grew. IP: Logged |

Yeah! I had just finished a vicious leg press set ... I was gasping, seeing spots and ready to pass out. So only half paying attention to what I was doing I started unloading the Leg press ... the first plate to come of I guess I was hlding with just light fingertips and the 45lb plate just dropped as soon as it came off the bar, bounced off the top of my foot. I just calmly packed up my gym bag and limped out, the receptionist asked "What leaving already?" to which I replied "Yeah I just broke my foot" and I limped out. ------------------ IP: Logged |

damn boys, I feel like the man. My foot encountered the almighty 45 and won. Hell yes, if the rest of my body were as strong as my big toe I'd be Ronnie, who I saw work out by the way. Only squated 600, but pressed...... well.... shit i can't remember but the leg press was maxed out with 45's the two sides and the middle one. ------------------ IP: Logged |
