I see a lot of posts who likes to jump in newbies case. They have a question so let them ask. If you think they are dumb, don't respond. Don't even open the post. And stop with the "ALL NEWBIES MUST READ!!" I know there are rule on the board, but this is the internet. If the rule are broken, then ban the person. It seems like a lot of people are hypocrits, they hate the steroid law, but they love to enforce their own law on newbies. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Stop the newbie post?!? Dude are you fuckin crazy? You must want all newbies to be totally uneducated and must like reading those repeated and ignorant posts that could have been prevented from never being posted by either:1. SEARCHING or 2.reading the "ALL NEWBIES MUST READ" post!!!!!!!!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

I'm with Gearface. Keep the Newbie Post. Personally I wish before a person could be admitted to this board they were forced to read the damn thing. Not only does it explain the rules of the board, it's got some great resouces links in it. IP: Logged |

It is to the newbies' advantage to read the NEWBIE POST because it will save them the embarasment of breaking any of the "rules". IP: Logged |

Drop the newbie post? What the hell? Newbie post isn't meant to flame it's meant to help and educate. That's the most important thing for the newbies. Tells them the rules of the board, where to get info and how to get it. Which saves them from posting redundant questions that don't get answered and frustrates them and us. I agree whe should be leaniant and patient toward them, we were all there too. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Keep the newbie post, it acts as a guide for them. But I would like to see a lot of the flames stop. Were we all born with our knowledge of AS? I think not. We all start somewhere. And help uneducated users get educated and use AS correctly adds to the sport. So if you don't like the question, or think it is stupid, don't respond. ----------------- Bossman IP: Logged |

Newbie Post Stays, until it is mandatory reading on registering. Flaming is a tool, to have people learn a lesson, imagine how many people (lurkers) or non posters (yet) who witness a newbie getting flamed and say to themselves "F that, I don't want that to happen to me, so I won't ask a easily found question or post sources" There is a difference between constructive flaming and saying someones mamas a ho. No need to get personal, but the flame is a tool. I agree that too many personal/harsh flames have been directed at some newbies. We need to also keep in mind that the search is down, and thus alot of 'dumber' questions. Slopain IP: Logged |

I know one thing is for sure... we were all newbies at one point. But yes these posts are really annoying some of them. Very repetitive and questions could be avoided with a search. IP: Logged |

I agree that sometimes people flame the newbies when there is no need to do so. And some act like the newbie questions are such an inconvenience... like they've forgotton what it was like to be a newbie. That is bullshit. BUT.... some of the newbie posts are so fuckin' stupid... and so lame. They don't know anything about roids at all... they have no idea what steroid does what... and they get on and ask people to put together an entire cycle... because they don't even know which ones are used for bulking. I used to be a newbie... so I remember what it's like. Finding information on this board... and the internet as well... is very easy to do. The newbie post needs to stay. IP: Logged |

As an official newbie I'd like to add my viewpoint here. First of all, the must read newbie post is helpful, but let's be honest. If someone is going to do some research and view the old posts before going off and posting some lame assed question that's been asked a 100 times already then they'll likely read the newbie must read post. But if they are in the mindset of posting a question they'll just skim over that newbie must read post, if they open it at all. Even if you make it mandatory to read upon registering you can't make someone read it. How many times have you read the complete disclaimer when "required" to do so? I agree that there is a lot of helpful information, but at the same time I think it's helpful to remember that there is a lot of confusion about AS, even among the more knowlegable posters. If there's confusion amongst the pros then you can't expect a newbie to have a clear understanding, even if he has read the old posts. As someone else mentioned, if you don't like it and it really bugs you then you don't have to read it, reply to it or whatever. Or you can, it goes both ways. It's important to remember that the board is here to educate individuals, no matter how dumb they may seem. I've found the board to be very useful, the only problem I have now is that I have more questions than I have answers it seems. IP: Logged |

I think flames are almost nonexistent on this board, but post something like "is ephedrine a steroid?" and maybe you deserve a little good humored flaming. The most recent example I think is the "injection site" post by lunatic, probably the funniest post I have ever read here. The guys didn't flame him, but the responses were hilarious as well and *made* the post. The newbies post should stay. It helps them to do at least a minimal level of research first. Every good group has always had a faq, that's all it is. ------------------ IP: Logged |

The newbie post is good, but maybe should be re-worded. It comes off very derogatory and not very inviting to the board. Every week or so I open it for the hell of it and I see more and more threats in it. The newbies will learn. We were all there at one point. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Look the newbie post needs to stay. I personally love this board and I always try not to flame people. Out of the 200 or so posts I have had, I have only flamed one person and that is LUVS2JUICE. I know we need to be nice to newbies. Everytime I see an intro post I always click on it and welcome the newbie. But newbies must understand that we are not going to hold their hands and walk them to the gym, so to speak. And if you ask me, clogging up the board with immature questions hurts us all. If people would just do a little research on their own they would be helping themselves and us out. Some people on this board are jerks and flame all the time and I agree that this is not right. We all had to start somewhere and I understand that totally. But some of these guys act like they have never even seen a gym and think taking roids will turn them into superman like magic. And Big Brother Val: I totally agree with what you said. People have to do some research on their own. We are a chat board, not a search engine for newbies. IP: Logged |
