![]() ![]() ![]() In response to an earlier post stating how bad steroids are for you, i just wanted to vent and give my oppinions on how good they have been to me. When me and my ex of 2 years broke up, i felt like shit for a long while. I was still training but not with much intensity. I decided to do a cycle and man this stuff has completely changed my life. I didn't get teh roid rage everyone speaks of, i didn't beat the hell out of any family members, i really think i turned into a better person because of one major thing the juice brought me adn that was self confidence. It has made me feel better, look better, act better, and has made my life much more fun to live. Im in much better health, i watch what i eat, don't do any more party drugs, and take my training much more seriously since i started juicing. So i just wanted to say, steroids aren't the worst thing in teh world, sure they can be overused, but so can advil, aspirin, etc. The truth is, if used right steroids can bring great happiness, self confidence, and success to one's life! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I would just like to say that before I started, I was one irritable person. Very shortfused and even kind of paranoid. Very possibly the result of LOW test levels. Since I started, I am the nicest, most mild mannered, happy, confident man ( I even upped my tipping to 25%). That changes in the gym though-Intensity reigns. Test seems to have done to me just the opposite of rage. I'm telling everyone-invest in drug co's that make these(other than buying). It's the wave of the future for the older population!!!!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I agree with all of you. Now try saying that to people who disapprove of steriods. They will think we're crazy, but what all of you said, more self-confidence, having more control over your anger, its all true. I would have never said that before I started. BIG BUMP FOR JUICE!!!!!!!!! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Interesting thread, bros. I'd add that a lot of what DRRman got from gear he could have gotten from just training hard and eating smart. No 15 pounds in 4 months like therealj got, but both these bros could have gotten real gains just from getting back onto a good track in terms of training. I don't mean here any putdown of those who "live better through chemistry," just a little added perspective on the thing. Let's not forget the basics (training, nutrition, recovery). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I agree that AS used correctly can improve many facets of life. The one problem that concerns me though is what about when it's time to stop? After using them, even in moderation, on and off for years, What happens when it's time to quit? I know, you'll do them forever. But, at some point we all have to stop. Will you ever be happy with your size without AS or without the feeling of "Well being", etc? What do you guys think about this? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That is a good point...but I think most guys on here would agree that people do AS for results now...and having said that aside from possible health problems in the future I don't think too many guys in here care if they no longer bench 315 or have abs when they are 55....it is a good question and something all of us will face one day IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Listen, bros. Stop the mutual admiration and congratulation society crap here. The only thoughtful thing on this thread is by Lexicon (12th post on this thread), who asked: "I agree that AS used correctly can improve many facets of life. The one problem that concerns me though is what about when it's time to stop? After using them, even in moderation, on and off for years, What happens when it's time to quit? I know, you'll do them forever. But, at some point we all have to stop. Will you ever be happy with your size without AS or without the feeling of 'Well being', etc? What do you guys think about this?" C'mon, bros! Lex's question is one of the most insightful things I've read on this board, a lot more interesting than "What should I combine with my Winny?" and all the other bullshit questions you see posted a million times a day, and always have time to respond to. What Lex is asking, I think, is How're you going to handle it when the party's over? Some of the brains in the neck types will answer with some Die Young and Make a Good Looking Corpse bullshit, but I expect better from some of the standup guys I know read and post to this board. Lex again: "I agree that AS used correctly can improve many facets of life. The one problem that concerns me though is what about when it's time to stop? After using them, even in moderation, on and off for years, What happens when it's time to quit? I know, you'll do them forever. But, at some point we all have to stop. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() his question is valid, however, chances are noone is apt to think of that now. we all know the party will be over, but who the hell WANTS to think about that? its not an unreasonable question, just one that isnt that important to most. for most it will be business as usual, training or family or whatever happens to be priority in that persons life. not everyone on this board will be a juicer for life, not everyone will train all thier life, everyone here will make changes down the line to fit in all aspects of their life in. there is life outside the gym and the kitchen. some of us realize it and are able to get that happy medium to allow for everything to have its place. to place such importance on a question such as "what happens when you cant juice?" is kindof showing that without juice some people wouldnt be training? i fell in love with the TRAINING aspect and the size just came. now i love both. first and foremost the training/health aspect comes first. when the juice is gone? oh well. ill have size, and a good outlook on training to keep me interested. not the neverending quest to take up more space. my interest wont fade because the "instant gratification" factor is gone. i guess that seperates those who train because they like it, and those who train because they just want to look better. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() BigNate: Nice reply. You do indeed sound like a man who lifts because you like it which, if you ask me, is the only motivation that would keep a man coming back to something so challenging and, sometimes, painful. You're also a man of some maturity and thoughtfulness, which is not often enough encountered on this board. What about the other bros? I'll tell you honestly, I get concerned when I read the thoughts of a lot of the guys here, who seem to think that worth comes from size, and that self esteem is something you can draw by the cubic centimeter out of an amp. That's why I wanted them to look around some and see the broader currents in their life, the longer time horizons. I even think that Lexicon's question has a more important meaning, one that penetrates to the core of the feeling good, self esteem thing. We all know lifters who, off cycle, feel shitty that they're smaller and weaker, and we all know old folks who feel shitty that they're less fit, more in pain, etc., than they were when younger. Lexicon's question seems to imply that gearheads, once the party is over, are setting themselves up for a double dose of this kind of melancholy looking backward. I'm still thinking this through, so the thoughts are kind of inchoate for me, but I think Lex touched on something really novel, and worth thinking about for any gymrat.
