Most people on this here planet are "lactose intolerant"...This can cause a lot of problems. Histamine production being one of a myriad number.

When I avoid milk, I am much leaner and less bloated. Also lactose is a pretty high glycemic sugar that will fuck with your insulin balance.

Not saying it doesn't have it's purposes, but if you have the coin to supp with protein powder and eat lean meats, no need.

I know I am lactose intolerant. Here's a good story:
About two and a half years ago, when I first started watching my protein intake, I would get a quart of milk and drink it on the way to work. Then I'd be shitting like a goose the rest of the day. It took me about three days to figure out it was the milk! I figured out if I drink more than a half pint I'll be in trouble.

Animal B is only correct for those who are LACTOSE INTOLERANT. Most of the world IS lactose intolerant, except for North Americans and Western Europeans, for the most part. This is because these areas of the world domesticated cattle for beef and milk.

SO, if you are not lactose intolerant, then there is no need to worry. I for one am not and most I know are not. All of the anti-milk advocates need to stop extrapolating their own problems to the majority of the population.

Also, TONYDELK, is incorrect in that milk sugar (lactose) is not a high glycemic sugar and milk itself has a low GI.

Milk is the greatest fluid ever, possibly even better than water. It has protein, vitamins, and calcium. It comes in high calorie and low calorie varities. Multiple flavors including Chocalate, strawberry, and banana. You can buy it any size and in any sort of container. People used to bring it to your door it was so good for you. You can mix it with protein powder, weight gainer, and chocalate syrup. You can make butter, ice cream, and cheese out of it. And after you drink it all, you can recycle your container and save the environment. WHATS BETTER THAN MILK?!

I'm with Cockdezl and YD98 on this one. Lactose intolerance is a real problem, but it affects a minority of lifters. Most people don't need to be concerned, though studying your reactions like ajc1977 is wise.

I drink a lot of milk. Shamefacedly, and only if I know I'm healthy, I like to stick my paw in the fridge, yank out a gallon jug, and guzzle it right from the jug before my wife or kids catch me - it definitely tastes MUCH BETTER that way! I also use a lot of nonfat dry milk. Cheaper than whey protein, and combines nicely with whey, whole milk and bananas for a killer protein shake.

I don't know that I'm lactose intolerant, although I may be. Sometimes it seems when I drink a lot of milk in protein shakes and what not that I have horrible gas. So lately I've been substituting Soy Milk for cow milk. It takes a little getting used to the flavor, you can tell it's plant based and not animal based. But if you drink it in a protein shake you can hardly taste the difference. So not only do you avoid the lactose you also get the benefits of soy.

your bodies energy is called inate...this is what controls your body...when we are infants or babies your body knows milk is essential so lactase(enzyme in the body which breaks down milk sugar)production is high...as we grow to adults, your inate knows milk is no longer necessary, so in order to concerve energy, your body will stop production of lactase....this is why most all adults or considered lactose intol...we are supposed to be like this,,,the dairy companies know this , this is why they make lactose free milk...after all I dont know any other animal in nature that drinks milk as adults...only infants...

Milk may have some bad qualities for bodybuilders but I love the stuff. I'll take the little bit of H2O retention for the MMMM-MMM-GOOD of an ice cold glass of Skim Milk.
BUT- if a person wants the optimal look, milk is definately NOT in the plan.
BTW Animal is right. Most people in the world cant tolerate milk

Humans are ALL lactose TOLERANT as babies as you stated, but only those who are lactose INTOLERANT as ADULTS have the problems you state. Western Europeans and North Americans, by and large, are not lactose intolerant. This is due to generations of milk consumption. Our systems do not suppress lactase expression as other nationalities who do not comsume milk after weaning. It is only a waste of the system's energy to make a product (lactase) that does not benefit the system. In our case, it is beneficial since we derive energy from milk.

Also, do you really think that all adults are drinking lactose FREE milk?? The dairy companies are making this for the small numbers who CANNOT drink regular milk.

"...after all I dont know any other animal in nature that drinks milk as adults...only infants..."

Are you still governed by your basic, primal behaviors??? Do you shit outside and cover it with dirt? Do you sniff the asses of strangers? Animal, stop posting stupid shit like this, it takes away from your otherwise intelligent posts.

Mr cock,
we are a product of nature...no I dont sniff asses , but a good clean vagina once in a while...lol, may I refer you to a book by .dr togglewood "No Milk" and also 1000 other resourses over the net....You could never convince me to drink a glass of white fat, that has pesticides, herbisides and other toxins stored in it...human milk I would drink, but it is hard to find volunteers...Milk is species specific...do more research Mr Cock...and thanks for the little complement at the end of your post...another fact for you after wenning, 95% of all babies do not want to drink cows milk...because instinct tell them not to drink yet, yet it is forced on them by there parents who are brain washed thinking milk does a body good...kind of like cigs in the 50s, by the way the lawsuits have started against the dairy companies promoting milk does a body good...

I'm with animal on this one. If you like it fine, but if you don't happen go dig the stuff, don't force yourself to drink it because you think it's somehow necessary. I know there's some idiot out there who drinks it just because he's convinced it some kind of wonder juice. When I have to drink it because there's a gun to my head, I choose lactaid. It's a little weird, but it keeps me from getting the goofy poopies. I get the worst gas and the foulest shit when I drink milk. When my ass opens up and speaks, it smells like a burning tennis shoe. I need a garbage can in front of me in case my shit makes me puke. In my personal opinion? Milk just putrifies in the stomach. All that ammonia can't be good for you. When your car smokes, you know something isn't right, correct? When my ass wakes the dead and wilts plants, I know something isn't right. No matter what language you speak, foul ass is universally understood to be a sign of improper indigestion. If you're not digesting something properly, that also means you're not getting the desired nutrients out of it. Therefore, why drink / eat it? Okay, I'm done now.

actually bro, putrfaction takes place in the small intestine.

haters of milk, so be it. if your tummy cant handle it then drink scientifically cross filtered version of it. oh is that whey protein? whey being from.....? no getting around it, dairy products are almost staple food in this country. cheese, cream, butter, etc.
all i know is, it doesnt affect me at all. the protein is good, i dont get rank ass, or a tummy ache.
so for all the milk drinkers out there. i guess its personal whether it does a body good. no need for generalization.

oh yeah, pesticides? how about our beloved fruits and veggies? or our hormone fed cattle? or our genetically engineered chickens? unless any one of you are going to buy a farm in montana and live like grizzly adams, you are gonna get impurities. and even then you dont know what is in the soil or water.

oh and i did live in wisconsin, but im not advertising for the cheesehead farmers.

A funny thing happened to me on the "whey" to the kitchen. I realized the whey must come from somewhere.... where was that? Bulgaria,.? No,... it must be milk! Like a bolt of lightning (okay so it was more like realizing that you answered the last question on a final exam wrong, but you knew what the answer was supposed to be ). So here I am, eating a piece of humble pie with my whey protein shake (made with water). HOWEVER, I do notice a difference in the types of whey protein and their effects on my stomach / ass relationship. Any type of whey that doesn't have "lactose free" emblazoned on the side makes me shit death. Stomach cramps, the whole nine. Anyone want 5 lbs of Prolab protein powder?

Animal, animals don't drink milk in nature as adults because it's not available to them. Make is available and they will drink it up like it's candy.

And the "poisons" you mentioned, well if you're that worried about it don't eat any grain products and avoid fruits and vegetables like the plague. Do you think you're doing any good by rinsing that piece of fruit under the kitchen faucet? Think again.

In my opinion, we are becoming too afraid of our own world for our own good. People...just chill and enjoy the ride!

It was stated earlier that lactose is a high-glycemic sugar. That is not true at all. Milk is rated in the 30 category on the glycemic index with the lowest being 10-20(peanuts) and the highest being 150 (dextrose). Milk is one of natures most perfect foods. Too bad I can't drink it either.....I will literally throw up from more than 16 ounces.

Bignate, I have a question on your post. Do you believe that chickens have been genetically altered in any way other than those selection methods used for all other livestock and cultivated crops? In the future, changes via direct DNA manipulation will come and, hopefully, it will help keep chicken so affordable. But that day is not here just yet.

Just had to chime in on that for I make a living working with the little cluckers.

the dude:
no bro, i was just making another example of how "impure" our food is. probably no difference at all than how cattle is raised, or how fruit is altered to avoid rapid spoiling or particular insects. its all on the horizon. yikes.

im not sweating all the stuff done to our foods or whats in them. i mainly have no control over them so why quibble over it. if you can stomach something and you like it, eat it. if you cant, dont.

some say red meat causes colon cancer, some refute it. does that mean people will stop eating it? no.

but its good to hear the bros opinions on nutrition and their food selection. brings a different light on things. and could help a bro that doesnt know why his ass is blowing up after that milkshake .....or humble pie (i was just joking aahthit, but you know that ya fucker)

good thread bros!

My mistake animalb, I was just trying to make
the point that, given the opportunity, adult
animals will drink milk. I like the added protein I get when mixing milk with meal replacements and they taste better too.
