Got a notice from the post office. It said they tried to leave the package, but there was no one home. So they took it back to the post office. I have two choices, fill out the back side of the notice and tell them to remail it to my address or come and pick it up at the post office (with proper id). It was sent "registared" mail. Does this sound normal procedure? Shouldn't they just shove the package in the mail box and leave? What should I do?

The post man who filled out the notice didn't check the "signature required" box. It is the only thing that makes me feel some what safe. I'm still very unsure.

That is how I got my Customs Letters. Look at the name for who it is supposed to be delivered for. If it is the fake name, screw it and write it off.

I'm in the same situation right now, my package was also sent registered. Although the place where it said "signature confirmation" wasn't checked on mine the mail man said that a sig was required. After i declined he took it back to the post office, I went to the post office playing dumb, they said that i needed proper identification. When i got home i called and asked that they redeliver it.

Hopefully all will work out for both you and I. Good luck

Also, look out for other signs: how much gear was sent, was it the regular postman, how long did the package take, any strange cars in your area, etc......

Let us know what you decide to do

I filled out the notice to have it resent and put it back in the mail box. This afternoon, when I got back from work the mail man left the notice in my mail box and checked the requires signature check box. So now my only choice appears to be to go and sign for it. What do you guys think? I don't like it.
