Hi everyone. The search engine has been down down for awhile so I am bringing this topic up for discussion. Also, I have researched a lot on the web and found nothing about this topic. Here is what I have heard on the board and I am looking for help validating the idea:

1) Deca when used in conjuction with finasteride will cause hair loss.

2) Deca alone is on of the few steroids that will not cause hair loss(Will Brink www.brinkzone.com supports this.

All opinions and advice are appreciated. If you have links, please post them.

Thanks.

Finasteride is a 5-alpha reductase enzyme inhibitor. That is the enzume that converts testosterone to DHT. DHT attaches to the receptors in the hair follicle causing hairloss in those susceptible.
Therefore, finasteride helps prevent the conversion of test into DHT thereby helping you in your quest to keep your hair.

Deca is nandrolone (nortestosterone). Nortestosterone will convert to dihydronandrolone (DHN) via the 5-alpha reductase enzyme. Now the theory is that nandrolone itself is very hard on the hair. DHN is not. So since most of the nandrolone is converted to DHN in the scalp this is better for the hair. By taking finasteride, you will inhibit the conversion of nandrolone to DHN and therefore the harsher nandrolone will bind to the receptor on the hair follicle causing hairloss. There is some anecdotal evidence that the theory is correct but I'm not aware of anything scientific.
