I am having problems, I love the encryption but it is as clumsy as hell and crashes like Windows 3.0. ugh got to be a better way...

What really really sucks is that I've got the emails of alot of people on my hush acount. And I haven't even been able to open it to get their addys and send them from a different account. So f***ing frustrating!

Well, if anyone's trying to contact me, or expects me to write to him, please just email me to the hotmail on my profile here. I hardly ever use it, but this sucks!!!

This is bizarre... I haven't had one problem with it.

What browser are you using? Netscape or Internet Explorer? I'm using IE 5.0. You may need to upgrade so the encryption properties work correctly.

I've been trying with netscape communicator 4.72 and 4.73, and IE 5. Hotmail is working fine. I get the feeling the feds are just spending their spare time.

I'll check out your link candy. Is the encryption the same as hush?

I run into trouble all the time with it. I just go back later or change browsers and it works. It is a pain in the ass though. It was giving me some grief erlier today.

I'm still fucked. The login script runs, displays done, then I'm left with a nice grey (or gray), "hole" where the applet is supposed to be. I've been screwed for the last 24+ hours.

I had problems today getting the grey screen. I finaly got completely out of my browser and went back in and it worked.

Get this, in my "sent messages" file the To/From column shows only "from" which is me. I wrote to Hushmail and asked if I could change it. I told them I know who sent the messages, I did! But it would be nice to know who they were sent to without opening them. This just started happening today. Hushmail people dont know what to do about it.

Mokhtar, you're not alone in your problems with Hushmail. It is my opinion, though, that their version 1.3 Beta is better than version 1.2. I use two ISPs, and with one of them Hushmail has been VERY problematic. At least it was before version 1.3. Now, it's okay, which is cool because that ISP is much less expensive.

I, too, have a Hotmail account. But mainly the sensitive messages I receive are from PGP users (a small minority). I finally learned to use PGP, and it's cool.

However, PGP just isn't intuitive and I don't think most people will even try to learn to use it.

About Hushmail being monitored by the Feds, I would say that in my opinion it is a possibility. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but when I worked in the federal government I worked closely with several intelligence agencies.

Would the Feds want to blow their cover going after some AS people, or would they be more interested in terrorists, pedophiles, narcotic barons, etc.?

Just my $0.02, Mokhtar. I'll stick with Hushmail, even if it does seem to have weekly PMS.

Yeah, Hushmail is performing an upgrade. The notice that is clearly linked on the username page says that you will have intermittent problems until the end of the week.
Just a note, I get the gray screen as well with IE 5.0, but tried to get through with Netscape 4.7 and it loaded with no problems.

Netscape is free. Try it.
