Hey guys, I got a package last week, minus about 20 amps of deca. The customs sheet that came with it looked like a photo copy of a photo copy - and not very profesional looking. It had a stamped logo at the bottom with a four digit number written in pen. Supposedly my tracking number if I want to ask for my deca back. The wierd part: there was no customs sticker on the package that indicated it had been opened. In addition, it didnt appear to have been opened. It seemed to have the original packing tape on it. Can anyone help describe what the customs seizure paperwork looks like? I think it was for the Chicago area. IP: Logged |

Hate to say it but it sounds like you got taken for the 20 amps by your supplier. If I am not mistaken a custom seizure letter does have like a seal stamp on the bottom of it. Like an embossment (sp). It would never be a copied piece of paper. Also if they opened it, it would show signs of opening. I am not for sure on these, but that what it sounds like. IP: Logged |

On two ocassions I lost gear to customs and all I recieved was a very formal looking letter telling me what they found, what law I broke (rsa#) and how to contact them if I disputed the siezure..I let it go ..........The Feak IP: Logged |

This is a scam, this is one of the newest scams that is being run, usually it works this way: All you get is the confiscation letter saying your gear has been seized. The scammer knows you are not gonna follow through because of the legal risk to you, go domestic. IP: Logged |

customs siezures letters are formal and not copied...if your box doesnt appear to have been opened , then it wasnt, openned boxes will be cut a re taped, very noticable, you can call customes and ask if they confiscated a box with that tracking number, if they say yes, say thank you and hang up, if they say no...your were fucked..here is the # for customs in miami. 305 869-2884, you could ask to speak with tracy, she is very nice IP: Logged |

Hey guys, Just to clarify - the letter was in the package. I repeat - inside. And the box did not appear to have been opened. I am contacting my source to see whats up. I have used him for about three years with very reliable service. If things arent cool anymore Ill let everyone know. Im sure hes a source for others on this board. Its a canadian source. You definately got screwed by your source. Customs' letters come in an envolope by themselves. They are about 6 pages long and are very formal and detailed. I would scan you a copy but I threw both of mine away. I would definately tell your source to send you your goods and then maybe post him on a grey list on the scammer boards after you get your stuff.
