was at the gym today doing my first workout for my new cycle (winny, EQ, test) anyway, i was doing close grip benches for triceps after i had already done back and pushed it a little too hard so i was kind of tired did my first set at 275 for 10 reps, no problem, next set, i leave on the same weight, but put my hands a little closer together so i could hit more triceps i take the bar off the rack without having a real good grip on it, my left wrist bends forward and the entire bar comes crashing down on my chest! the thing bounced up a couple inches also! i was easily able to lift it off my chest onto the rack, but man, did that shit scare me i got up off the bar and these three pencil necks nearby who saw it were like "dude, are you ok?" i said yeah, i'm fine, i would have been laughing like hell if i saw somebody do that shit! That is both funny and big of you to tell. one time at the gym a newbie had some weights loaded on the bench. He laid down to bench, unracked the weight, dropped it to his chest...where it sat....and sat....and sat. Finally he nonchalantly just sort of says "Hey buddy. Are you busy?" At this point I look over and actually notice him. Then he says "Could you help me get this off my chest?". The funniest part was how calmly he just said "Hey buddy..." IP: Logged |

Back when I was around 19 I had been lifting at a local YMCA. Pretty good gym set up for a YMCA. Anyway it had mirrors all around the whole weight room which was nice. Anyway I just got done benching I think I had like 245 on the bar, so I unload the 2 10 lbs on each side, then I take a 45lb plate off of each side leaving a 45 on each side. Now 99.9% of the time you can leave 1 45lb plate on a bar and it won't go flying...Well guess what?? It was the .1 % time. I took one 45 off and the bar shot up like it launched out of a nuclear silo. Needless to say the bar flew and just shattered a mirror into a million pieces. Talk about dead silence in a gym.....(the first words heard where "Oh Shit" coming from my mouth about 10 seconds later) I got the manager and showed him and offered to pay but he said not to worry about it..insurance would cover it. He asked me if I learned anything and I said "Hell yeah---next time unload the bar closest to the mirror first" ;-) IP: Logged |

I am ROTFLMOA!!! Reason why: same sort of thing happened to me once when I was about 16. I was at the house by myself (usually i would just whack off in a moment like this) but, I got the brilliant idea to see how much i could max on the bench. Needless to say, the bar came crashing down on my sternum...pretty damned hard too. There was absolutely nobody there to help me, so I had to roll the bar down, over my nads, to my knees, then get up. I bruised my chest so bad (internally, because there wasnt any sign externally), that i had to take shallow breaths for several days...not deep breaths, not even normal breaths...it hurt that bad. I think from then on when I was alone at the house, I just chose beating the meat! IP: Logged |
