What the hell can I do to gain some size on my upper legs? My legs look like popeyes arms with my calves being so much more developed then my upper legs. My wife calls me chicken legs, I can't get mad because she is right. Measurements: calves 16 1/2 upper legs are only a laughable 23 at the biggest point. work legs once a week Squats on smith machine 3 sets 8 to 12 reps leg extension 3/6-10 leg curls 3/6-10 calf raise 2/12-16. I also train a lot in submission wrestling where I use my legs a lot. Have been trying to bulk up, everything is going good except my legs are pathetic. I wish I knew how to post pics so you could see what I am talking about. I have yet to use any AS but have been considering it for a couple years just never think I'm done with my natural potential, maybe that is my only hope. Thanks for any help you can give. I never had chicken legs, but I did have a problem with getting stagnant. I couldn't get them to grow to save my own life. The solution? Free bar squats. I know that may sound terrible if you're used to using the smith machine, but it's really the only way to go. After I started doing them, I noticed right away that I got a better pump, the shape of my quads improved, and my strength increased. I'm not saying that you'll be Paul DeMayo the next time you try them, but they are a helluva lot more effective than smith squats. Take it from someone who used to do them and couldn't grow. Every week from Tuesday to Friday I'm a cripple. Sitting on the toilet is a major effort in pain-threshold management. If you have problems with form or execution, post on the board and the bro's here will help you out. I did, and they saved my legs! IP: Logged |

Ok I wont take the credit for this, but Ranger turned me onto it, and its made a world of difference in my quads. To be done every other week. Warm and lube your knees up good on light leg extensions/ 20-25 reps 2 sets. Plop a couple of 45's on the bar and the rest in 10's Hit the squats son... Do the same on the leg press machine, Later, IP: Logged |

Try doing more sets for your squats pyramiding the weight as you go, also try spliting quads on one day and ham's on another. This way you can add more volume to your quad day. like WCP said take them all the way down and use intensity. Your legs are one of the biggest muscle groups so use extreme intensity. IP: Logged |

I would suggest barbell squats to the floor. If you ain't leaving shit stains on the floor you ain't squatting deep enough! Complete stretch & complete contraction, anything else is a waste of time.( you don't do barbell curls half way down so why should you with squats!) IP: Logged |
