Ok guys I have no back ground with insulin at all. None. I was reading some info in the docs office and noticed that along with pics of insulin, they had pics of purple tabs. I think they were stated as being used for type II diabetics, the article said that these tabs helped the body produce it own natural insulin levels. Anyone know what these are and if they have a place in our sport ?

Yeah he is right it is glucophage.

Sort of like vanadyl, chromium or lopoic acid but much more effective...

Good stuff, but watch the dose. I took a little too much one night and had abdominal cramps like you wouldn't believe.

By the way, glucophage doesn't even come close to mimicking humulinR, for me anyways.

Keep your eyes open. Soon to be released: an insulin nasal inhaler. This will have the same effect as the injectible, but will enter your bloodstream much faster and less painfully.

"Both Inhale Therapeutics and Andaris report progress on a dozen or more different inhalable medications. With luck we may not need the syringe too much longer"

The inhaler is to be the new method of delivery for alot of the new genetically engineered medications we will be seeing. This includes insulin. It will do away with the need for injections. But obviously since AS needs to be delivered intra-muscularly we can forget about giving up our beloved 22 gauge...at least for awhile...

Glucophage does not increase insulin levels but actually decreases insulin levels, through increasing insulin sensitivity. The drugs you are talking about are the sulfonylureas, like Tolbutamide and Glipizide. They cause the pancreas to release insulin, so users have high insulin levels while on the drugs.

Some have used these drugs, with success, to help with the carb up of keto diets .
