Last friday (a week ago) I woke up early in the morning w/ the shits and stomach cramps. Ok its Thursday night, a week later, and i'm still having stomach cramps and I can't drink a protein shake, it fucks my stomach up bad. I fart all the time and it stinks so bad I can't stand myself.. Honestly like every 5 minutes. My stomach hurts!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone ever have this problem when there protein intake is high? IP: Logged |

hey dude, your body is telling you something. you need to cut back on the protein. how much are you putting down per day? if most of it is in the form of supplements, that's your problem. supplements are just that,.......to supplement your dietary intake of protein. if you rely on that as a primary source, you're headed for the gastric trouble you're experiencing. i get gas and lose shits every time i start eating too many protein bars and too much protein powder. the powder isn't as much of a problem but the bars are death in a wrapper for all concerned. give us some of the details of your diet and what types of protein you're getting. I'm getting about 350 grams of protein a day, but the weird thing is that I don't drink alot of protein shakes. I might supplement my diet w/ 2-3 a day. The rest is from whole foods. Well, is it possible that it will take a while for a high protein intake to catch up w/ u? I was drinking 4-5 shakes a day but I cut it back alot.. about a week after I cut back is when i noticed problems. Its awful, im miserable. Diarhhea all the time too. IP: Logged |

I work in a parts warehouse that is 2 floors. The level above me has a grated floor that u can see through and the people that work above me complain that they can smell my ass all day. But damn I can't help the shit dude, I just fart all the time. Its getting to be ridiculous. IP: Logged |

Try some Imodium for a while and see if that helps to "thicken" things up for you. In the meantime, most beef tends to block me up if I eat it for too long, so try packing some meat (pardon the expression). Don't take too much Imodium ( constipation is almost as bad as diarhhea.) Go by the directions on the box. Different people will react differently to different proteins. I'll shit my brains out if I eat too much fish, but I can eat chicken until the sun burns out and never have any problems. Any supplements in your diet? Glutamine at high doses will cause gastro-intestinal distress too. I'm convinced that there's something being overlooked here that is causing your problem. I doubt the amount of protein you're eating is the sole cause. Holy shit! I just thought of something! (I'm in a hurry at work, can you tell?) Are you making your shakes with milk? I've read that nearly 70% of the population is lactose intolerant to some degree. I am, and milk makes me smell like a septic tank. TRY THIS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. ELIMINATE ALL DAIRY FROM YOUR DIET. holy shit bro's I was just gettin ready to post the same shit, no pun intended heheh. I have the exact same problem. I usually take 1-2 nice long 30-45 minute shits a day regardless, and sometimes I get the major shits and it kills but it's not waterly like diareha initially, it's formed stool. Sorry for such detail. I had stomach ultrasound done and that came out cool, I had a Barium Enima done(trust me, this is no picnic at all!!!) and I'm still waitin on that. If that comes out clean I'm gonna assume that i need to eat more of my protein rather than drink it in the form of whey from the blender. IP: Logged |

Hey Juiceboy, I'll tell you from experience, my body thanked me the day I ran out of protein powder and only ate solid (read = REAL) food. I use protein powder now, but only after workouts and usually before I go to bed. I'm not big fan of fake ass food because my stomach hates it. If you're having diarhhea, that means you're not digesting your food properly. If you're not digesting your food,....what good is it? Diarhhea will lead to weight loss if it goes unchecked. Do whatever it takes to get that "shit" under control. I had it for 5 weeks one time and lost ten pounds. I did everything I could to keep my weight on, but nothing worked because it all came rushing out my ass in pure liquid ass-vomit. Stick with real food for a while, and work a shake into your diet every other day or so until you feel like your body can tolerate it again. Some people will disagree with me on this one, but I'll believe my ass over someone else any day. Listen to the fart of experience on this one. Email me if you want some more gory details. aahthit: I drink alot of milk. But i've never had a problem before. I did switch brands of Tuna to Albacore, been eating around 4 cans a day of that (not a whole lot). I eat mainly chicken and tuna. Spunky, Just as a precaution, I would throw out the milk and dump the tuna. I've gotten diahhrea from tuna, but only when I had 5 cans a day. After one particularly bad experience with it, I decided to forget tuna existed. (My roommate calls tuna "shit fish" now.) I realize that it may be tough to give up some things like this, but brotha man, your ass will thank you for it. Give the trees a break (toilet paper comes from trees) and drop the milk and tuna for a couple of days. Are you on cycle now? If so, the booty squirst are wasting your time. Hi All, Im getting this as well it has nothin to do with the proteen shakes as i have stopped them but im farting like hell they dont smell bad just really loud and also im shitting like a jet engine or firecracker BLAM...! The only things that have changed in my diet are the increase of proteen and carbs but im getting most of it from real food and not supplements (Like shakes etc) the other things that have changed are The addition of milk thistle and evening primrose oil...! hey man...we all feel your pain...at the end of my first cycle a guy at the gym made me a protien shake....thought he would be funny and put 2 scoop of powder instesd of one!! man i shit for two weeks straight...couldnt eat or anything...lost 10 lbs...wanted to kill the bastard...only problem was that he is 6'4" and im 5'7" haha...good luck controlling them shits!!!! Okay, the gas is from the filler in your protein powder. That's your first problem. Egg pro-powder tends to have those in abundance. Switch to a reasonably priced whey that's primarly composed of isolate. Most are a mix anyway, so it will be tough to find one that is pure isolate. IP: Logged |

man all this is pretty natural for bodybuilders diets. just try to narrow down what is fucking up your stomach so bad. for me its milk and sweet potatoes and certain protein powders and bars. if you have ever been to a mr olympia contest(ive been to 2)the whole damn place smells like shit from people walking around farting and im not joking you will be watching the contest and all of a sudden someone sitting near you farts and nobody knows who did it but it stinks like shit in there.
