O.k. do not get excited fellow juiceheads, I have a problem and since I see doctors all over the board, i figured I'd ask. Woke up this morning with a lot of pain on the right side of my right hand, pinky hurt was a little stiff, just pain basically, had none when i went to bed. It hurt all day then i went to the gym and towards the end of my workout, the tip of my pinky got that pins and needles feeling, it is still like that an hour later, and it hurts more , especially if i twist my hand the knuckle really hurts. Any one trhat knows what this could be please reply

SOunds like the onset of carpal tunnel to me. You loose feeling in the pink's first and as it progresses it moves on.

I get something just like that. It occurs in me when my weights are getting up there. Heavy weights then my pinky and hand start to get weird pins and needles. I have been told it is carpal tunnel. I take Motrin.

Try to rub all aoround your elbow and find a pressure point that causes the feeling. It should be on the underside of the elbow. If you find that and and it is pretty sore or swollen, put some ice on it.

Good luck.

I believe it's a bone/joint disorder caused from repetitive motion. Many people that type all day long, like our members here develop it over time.

could be nothing at all...

sometimes when i go to sleep my hand is in an awkward position cutting circulation, and when i wake up i can't even move it at all and i have to hold up my hand in the air to let the blood circulate...then it tingles like hell!!!

you could have done that with your pinky finger??

Bro...although everyone here has a personal story about that pain...I would try a Chiropractor, because you may have trapped, or pinched nerve that leads to the hand.
Worked for me

Carpal Tunnel is actually a disorder where your tendon/nerves slide through a pipe in your wrist. (You can see them in your wrist if you look). Anyways, this pipe or pipes become clogged or shrunk and the tendon/nerves begin to rub. Hence the pain and tingling. It can be corrected by a fairly simple surgery with a small cut on the wrist. They then put in a new tube. The reason I know so much about this is because someone in my family had this. It gets worse and worse but after the surgery there have been no more problems and that was years ago.
That's it...

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a symptom resulting from compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel(the osseofibrous passage for the median nerve and flexor tendons, formed by the flexor retinaculum and the carpal bones). It presents with pain and burning or tingling paresthesias in the fingers and hand. The disorder is most commonly found in middle aged women and anabolic steroid users. Excessive wrist movements, arthritis, hypertrophy of the bone and connective tissue in ACROMEGALY, and swelling of the wrist can produce this syndrome. Treatment is usually conservativeand consists of splinting the wrist to immobilize it for several weeks until the irritation of the median nerve has healed. In severe cases, resection of the carpal ligament is helpful.

Well with CTS they don't put in a new tube to run the nerves thru, they just cut the tendon that runs across the wrist. The tendon has no real reason for being there it does not control any kind of motion. The cut the tendon completely and you numbness and pain is gone. Unless you are on of the few where you build up scar tissue around the area and it returns. If this happens they go in a cut out the scar tissue, which is even more painful then the CTS. Trust me on this one because I have already been thru the whole thing.
