I've just taken Nolvadex for the past week. 10mg twice daily. Have it prescribed for gyno. Question...I've dropped about 5 pounds this past week. 235 down to 230. Does Nolvadex act as a fat burner or diuretic?

Nolvadex can and usually will inhibit the effects of steroids. What you are experiencing is normal. However, the alternative is GYNO...aaahhhh....lol. That is why we say it is best to only take Nolvadex if needed (as in your case). Next cycle you may want to try a cycle with gear that is less likely to aromatise. GOOD LUCK BRO!!!

I have to disagree, I don't feel that nolvadex cuts into gains. There was only one study done on pregnant women which stated that it decreased IGF-1 but no other studies have been done. I think it's reasonable to believe that you may have lost 5lbs of water weight!

I would have to agree with el cubano, I think that you have lost five pounds of water. To loose five pound of fat you would have had to decrease your calorie count by 17,500 (5 * 3,500) calories in the past week and that would be a large achievement!

it's just water weight. It's inhibiting some of the estrogenic effects, one of which being water retention.

Definately a diuretic effect. Happens to me every time I take it. Works well with a fat burning stack.

I agree, It has no effect on gains but dumps water so you appear smaller.
