I have had a problem with my right knee for a while, well after trying legs today and stopping due to pain I had it looked at. I have a partially torn lateral meniscus and an inflammed plica. It is very painful. He said to stop all painful movements (quad training). I just got back on from a 5 week layoff due to job and lost 15lbs. I dont want to wait any longer, so should I train everything except quads?? I dont want to look like Ive been in a wheelchair all my life. No flame towards wheelchair bound people.

Lay off for a while. You only got one set of knees Bro. What's the doc say about healing time?

Work your hamstrings with comfortable weight! For they are the main supports for your knees. You will hear physical therapists say this over and over.

Keep training everything but legs. The added pressure would be too risky even if you do hamstrings. Go see a doctor for real advice. Could be worse or better than you think!!

Train upper body only until this is resolved. Dont do anything that puts pressure down on the knee joint, so do presses and things like that sitting. Dont fuck with your knees, as I have said before, 2 arthroscopies and 3 major surguries were no fun.

Thanks fellas. I will train upper body, hams lightly and calves. Ice 4 times daily and take 800mg of anti-inflammatory. Will a water retaining steroid alleviate some pain??
