![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There is a method of IM injection known as a Z-track injection that should help reduce the potential for bleeding as well as keeping your juice where it belongs...in the muscle. This technique is simple and is well used by the medical profession for IM injection administration. If anyone would be interested in having this posted, let me know and I would be happy to oblige. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This technique will work best with glutes and thighs..not too easy with delts ![]() First, draw up your injection. Second, clean the injection site with alcohol or some other disinfectant. Third, using the SIDE of your non-dominant hand (the side with your little finger) place it down where you want to give the shot. Fourth, press down firmly and pull the skin (and the fatty tissue under it) back to the side. Fifth, inject the site and use the fingers of your hand (the one thats pulling back the skin)to hold the syringe. Your other hand is pushing the plunger. Sixth, as you pull the pin out, release the skin. In essence, the skin you pulled aside "seals" the puncture and keeps the juice from oozing out of the site. That seems to be a problem when giving IM injections, after you administer the shot some of the drug leaks out and its hard to tell how much you lost from the oozing. It seems hard but with practice it gets easier. I hope this is helpful. IP: Logged |
