Hey Bros: I'm in the middle of my first cycle -- and have stopped gaining weight! I started at 143 pounds (5' 10") and gained 7 pounds in two weeks, then another 3 over the next two weeks. I haven't gained any weight for a week (although I do feel 'hard'). I remain at 153 1/2. Is this normal? Shouldn't I really be packing on the weight in the middle of the cycle, when the sust dose is at it's highest? I took 250mg of sust for the first two weeks, then upped it to 400mg (one 250 shot every 4-5 days). I am drinking a gallon of water a day + getting 3950+ calories, including nearly 300mgs of Protein. My bodyfat is low: on a home scale that lets you check your bodyfat, it came back at 4.5% (I think it's really closer to 9%). I don't know what to do: (Also, I know that the dose is considered low (250-400mg per week), but it is my first cycle and I have a smaller bodyweight than most of you guys -- so far :-) Advice, anyone? Friend, 250mgs a week is a VERY low dose. Assuming your training is in check, diet seems to be as well. During a cycle, my weight will fluctuate big time. I will gain steadily for a while, then up and down. When i used sustanon for the first time, i researched dosages for my cycle in the archives. Start high, then taper down. Like 3 amps a week for the first 5, then two amps a week for three, then maybe one for two weeks. I NEVER start a cycle till it is well planned out and I have all of the drugs necessary. You're almost up 11lbs....good job. That's not bad for a test only cycle. Plus you take in almost as much protein a day as I do and I'm 240. Just keep on the course and it's possible to stagnate in the middle of the cycle and then start gaining again. Maybe those gains will be mostly permanent too. Good luck D p.s. 2 of the sust per week is 500mg not 400, just FYI IP: Logged |

I would say you're probably still gaining mass, but losing alittle bf. That's why your weight is the same. You are at a low dosage though. IP: Logged |

I tend to have similar results as you, I gain weight in the first 4 weeks then little more. My feeling is that I retain water early on (weight gain) then as the water is leaving and solid muscle is being gained my scale weight and size remain the same but my density and strength improve after week 4. Thanks bros! I had an idea that the weight gains would be pretty steady. I should have mentioned that I started taking Tamoxifen (Nolvadex) in the fourth week. I read that it might cause me to lose some water. Do you think I should up the mgs of sust for the last weeks of my cycle? (or should I keep it at 400 by spacing the injections every 4-5 days?) How long does sust stay in the system after the last injection? PS IP: Logged |

It's the Tamoxifen that has cut your gains bro. You should never add Tamoxifen unless you are prone to gynecomastia or you start to see some major estrogen side effects. Tamoxifen competes with testosterone for receptor sites. It will cut your Sustanon's effectiveness by 50%, you're now going to have to increase your dosage or discontinue the Tamoxifen. Again, a little bit of research on your part would have stopped you from making that mistake but then again most people learn through experience. I made the same mistake myself when I thought I was taking way too much test with A50's, I never had side effects but took nolvadex anyway and I ended up losing weight at the end of that cycle because of it. I was much leaner but I didn't gain the mass I was looking to gain. How much Tamoxifen are you taking per day? I hope it's no more than 30mg. IP: Logged |

hey newbie, ive heard from many sources that nolvadex will put your gains on a halt because it clogs up alot of your receptors. its not a maintainance drug like clomid. your only supposed to use it during a cycle in an emergency to stop bitch tits and with that low of a dose you shouldnt have any problems at all in that area. you still made great gains though. only about 5% bf? that sounds like alot of quality muscle to me. keep bangin. I've been taking 20mgs of tamoxifen per day for five days. I read here a couple of days ago (a post by Skywalker, I believe -- and he seems to really know his stuff) that Nolvadex WOULDN'T have any effect on gains, that it would only cause one to lose some water. I mean, you can do research and STILL not have a final answer to your question. I also take Clomid EOD. I will go off the Tamoxifen (I only took it as a precaution) and see if the gains come back -- three weeks to go! Don't get me wrong! 11 pounds on my frame is definately noticible :-) And I'm happy with that. . . IP: Logged |
