![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After watching the tom green show cancer special a few weeks ago I decided to check myself out down there, if ya know what I mean. And to my shock I felt a lump on my friggin nut! So I go to the doctor and tell him my problem and he says he don't know what it is "it's probably cancer" he says. So to make a long story short, I just had the surgery today. After talking to the doc, he said that one testicle should be able to make up for the other one that's missing. How the fuck can 2 equal 1 is what I wanna know. Anyway I'm just stressed out and needed to let that out. Do yourself a favor bros and check yourself out. I never thought i'd get cancer, but here I am with it. Daeo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry to hear about your little friend. Look on the bright side. You have a healthy start. You are a survivor. It may not seem heavy to a lot of guys on this board, but you have beaten one of the deadliest diseases known to man - cancer. Congrats on at least the bright side of things. Trust me your family and friends will be much happier to love you with one nut rather than you laying in a bed, chemo, radiation, more surgery, etc. Stay positive. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey sorry to hear about this as well. However the result of not having it done could have been a fatal mistake. Some organs can pick up the slack of a missing counterpart. Some people have a kidney removed. The other kidney can pick up the slack and help filter out waste. Your other testicle can easily produce what it needs if you are ever planning to have children in the future. Good luck. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I usually don't flame but I was prepared to on this one. I was thinking any post titled "Everyone please read" is probably something like WHERE CAN I BUY GEAR or DO I REALLY NEED TO TAKE CLOMID? But this was a really good post. I am glad you posted it. Testicular cancers like seminomas have a high survival rate. The testes produce sperm and the prostate produces prostatic fluid. A normal ejaculation is primarily prostatic fluid - so you should notice little difference in your loads as far as sex goes. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the replys guys. I'm 25 years old with no history of cancer in the family except lung cancer which was caused by smoking. They haven't done a biopsy yet so I don't know if it's malignant or not. But the doctor told me last night that it appears that I caught it early. I go in for a cat scan on tuesday to see if it spread. Just wanted to let everyone know so that I may help others out and catch it early. The only part that scares me know is chemo if I have to go that route. Losing my hair and becoming a skeleton after years of hard training doesnt seem like a picnic to me. Daeo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't sweat it bro, I lost mine when I was 24, only it was to a tailgate and a freaky woman(hince the nick my friends kindly gave me). My aparattus still functions correctly and that was my main concern, I'm sure you feel the same. My remaining testicle took over where the other one left off, I haven't had any adverse side effects(eccept for shit from my bro's. The only difference is the one left is pretty fucking huge. You will be fine and you should still able to have kids, I haven't put that to test but all doctors told me it shouldn't be a problem. As tramatic as it seems now you'll be alright, after I lost mine I found a lot of people have had the same thing with no problems. I hope this may help you ease your feelings and now everyone else knows we both have only one nad. Enjoy the pain pills.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A very good friend of mine is going through cancer treatment as we speak. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease (type of lymphatic cancer) back in February. He went through 12 weeks of chemotherapy and is now going through four weeks of radiation. He is a strong guy. He's 5'8", 210 lbs before the chemo started. He did just about everything he could to stay active through it, and after everything, he's only lost five pounds! His energy has decreased, and blood counts have been decimated. He has gone through three blood transfusions to keep him healthier, but this has only been a temporary fix. I guess the most uplifting part of all of this is that he never got nauseated from the chemotherapy. He never got to the point where he didn't want to eat. He's made it through quite well so far. Hopefully, the Hodgkin's will be in remission. If you have to go through chemo, keep eating. Try to maintain as normal of a lifestyle as possible. Go to the gym, but don't stress yourself too much. My friend kept at the gym throughout chemo, and he has yet to miss a day of work. He did lose his hair, although he kept his head shaved anyhow. Best of luck to you. Hope for the best. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey bigpappa just to answer your questions. The lump on my testicle felt about the size of a pea or so. Wasn't too hard to find. It was located at the top portion of the testicle. It was a hard lump. The doctors thought at first that it may have been a cyst, but after a ultrasound (how embarassing!) of my testicle they said it wasn't filled with fluid and it counted out a cyst. After that the doctor said the only route was surgery and it had a 95% chance of being cancer. As far as my steroid history I have none. Was planning on going on my first cycle the beginning of August. So for now I have to wait to see what the outcome of this will be first before I begin my cycle. I urge everyone to spread the word and check yourself regulary. Like I said before you never think it'll happen to you until it does. If anyone has anymore question feel free to ask Daeo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes they did remove the testicle. They asked me if I wanted an prosthesis, but at the moment I was more worried about cancer. Also they said the implant was expensive and wouldn't be covered by health insurance. So yes I only have one nut. Daeo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Doctors said there was no way to prevent it although I'm not sure if I had anything to do with it. I used to use tanning beds often and was wondering if somehow my use of them had attributed to my cancer. The walls of the scrotum are very thin. Maybe I had given myself cancer somehow by tanning. Anyways I'm no expert and I'm just specualting here. Anyone have input on this? Daeo IP: Logged |

They just weren't sure what kind and how soon I had caught it. I go back on tuesday and find our whats up. They told me that it looks as though I had caught it early. I still have to go in for cat scans of my chest and abdomen to find out if it had spread any. Anyway I really appreciate the concern guys. Daeo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good thing you checked. 7 years ago I too found a lump...felt like at BB. My doc sent me to specialist who did an ultrasound and determined it was some scar tissue of some kind. To this day, it is still there; not getting any bigger. Still, for awhile I thought- what if they misdiagnosed it and it gets me? Probably would have by now...good luck. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's how I checked for it. You have to check your whole testicle. Use both hands and roll in inbetween your fingers checking the whole surface of the testicle. Don't confuse a vein for a lump though and go running to a doctor though. It will feel different than the rest of the surface and can vary in size. Mine was the size of a bb. You have to be thorough though. Don't go over real quickly and say ok i'm done. It may save your life. Daeo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I don't mean to intrude, but this topic really hit home. I had an annual last week. While checking my breast, the doctor felt a lump. She got a second opinion and the doctor confirmed her initial thought that it felt more like a bone and not to worry. Anyways, i didn't think anymore of it until yesterday, when the clinic calls me and tells me that my doctor was thinking more about it, and would prefer that i go see a specialist to determine what the lump is. GREAT! I'm scheduled for ultrasound and mamogram later this month. I'm 28, never used, and extremely healthy. I'm not a pesimistic person, and will assume the best until i receive the results. I'm scheduled to see the specialist at the end of August. That's alot of time to think.... your mind can scare the shit out of you, if you have to much time to think about it. Only time will tell. Just wanted to share my experience. Notice to all, check yourself regularly, male or female..... your worth it! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If this helps you: I don't think it is because of the tanning. Tanning would give you skin cancer, so it has to be something else.
