I personally don't consider curling a competitive lift! BENCH, SQUAT, POWER CLEANS, DEADLIFT, INCLINE PRESS IP: Logged |

Dang you guys are ANIMALS for curling. With a straight bar I can do 185 lbs 3 x 5 strict. But I weigh about 190 lbs at 6' w/ little to no body fat. ;0 IP: Logged |

i'm weak on bis, 45 db's for 20 reps, 50's for 12, 55's for 6. then i head to the straight bar for 3 sets of 4 at 120. then 3 sets of 21's for a pump (70lb barbell). i give it up to whoever was doing 185 my back would probably give out. damn i'm getting old. It's all form. I have seen some guys curl and it more closely resembles power cleans. My arms are my weakness. With decent form, probably 135 x 4-5 reps. IP: Logged |

FUCK!! I talked to Dennis Newman, this guy is 270, and his idea of heavy (with GOOD form, mind you) was 225. Shit... I consider 135 heavy... but I can preacher curl almost the same amount, as my reps with standing curls, or dumbell for that matter are extremely strict. If I can't constantly feel the muscle working, because I'm concentrating on weight, or using momentum to get the thing up... then it's too heavy. IP: Logged |

You are some strong bros'. I do good standing db @ 40,50,60 usually @ sets of each at 6-10 per arm. My preacher curl is o.k. @ reps of 10 down to 6 @ sets each from 95,115,125,135. I believe my form is ok on them, the assholes at my gym are genius's they will let me know if I am doing something wrong. I dont do standing straight bars 'cause I severed the flexor tendons in my hand and it hurts (boohoo) to do them. ------------------ "Pain is weakness leaving the body>>>" IP: Logged |

You guys are strong. My elbow does not let me go up very fast. I may be able to move a heavyer weight but then I can't bend my arm all day... what am I doing wrong??? So anyway I have to stay with the 60lbs dumbells as my heavy sets. I hate my bicept. Love my tri, only size my arm has. ------------------ "Obsession is passion. Use it. I'm at 135 for 8 strict reps. This is monumental for me at 184 as my biceps have never been my strong suit. I'm going to keep ushing the envelope but always with good form as this is what makes ME personally grow. IP: Logged |
