Its a very subjective thing. As far as the red wine, I wouldnt do that before a contest until youre sure how you respond. It depends on your normal carb up routine. If you are depleted, remember that though it isnt a carb technically, your body may react to it as if it were in the absence of any other carbs. Dont get me wrong, its good stuff, but you should work out the "kinks" before a critical juncture like a show...

I haven't heard of anyone that has used glycerol successfully. Lots of hype, (and in my admittedly limited experience) doesn't work well for MOST people. Kinda like HMB.

Carbs the day of the show (unless ingested early morning) shouldn't matter, they take awhile to work into your system. (Although high-glycemic carbs would cause an insulin spike -- not sure if that's good or bad). Firsthand experience-wise, I know a (local) champion that gobbles a whole bowl of ice cream between the morning and evening shows -- doesn't stop them from bringing home the trophies...

Glyc can help but you should start using it three days before....skip the day before then go go hard about 6 hrs before comp...it can help

thanks will keep you posted and my send a photo, end of august, regional north peru..my first competion was mr peru and came in 5th in my class out of 13, but the masses thought 2nd or 3rd, due to the fact I am american and the competion was Mr peru, there was politics involed...this time there will be no question
