hAVE ANY OF YOU GUYS SEEN THIS MONTHS ISSUE OF FLEX WITH KEVIN LEVRONE. IN THE MAG IT SHOWS A PICTORIAL OF LEVRONE CURLING A STRAIGHT BAR WITH 4 45'S ON EACH SIDE FOR 1 SOLID REP. THIS IS 405 POUNDS!! THIS HAS TO BE BULLSHIT, BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THAT ANYONE'S BICEPS COULD SUPPORT THAT MUCH WEIGHT. ANYONE HAVE ANY INPUT? I THOUGHT I HAD PRETTY STRONG ARMS, I CAN CURL ABOUT 185 FOR A COUPLE REPS, BUIT THIS IS REDICULOUS!! [This message has been edited by homewrecker (edited July 11, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I've personally seen sets of curls with 225+, and alt db with 100's. Don't you think it can't be done. There are literally billions of people on this earth, someone must possess that ability.

I run a gym in the southeast with two hundred members, four of which compete in state bodybuilding show and placed, and have about five state competitive powerlifters. I can believe the 405/2, I thought it was 405 a piece which is bullshit. I know some guys that can curl close to 200! Its not that far fetched at all. Thanks for the feedback gentlemen! This place is pretty cool! IP: Logged |

Maybe they were hollow plates. I have seen several VERY famous celebs/bodybuilders at my local gym doing shoots with lightened (very lightened) plates. There are even bent Olympic bars available for such promos. Not top say he was nopt doing the two man curl. What the hell is this anyway? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Austrian BB Manfred Hoebel had 28" arms and was said to have curled 405 on the straight bar on a bet. He was also a worlds strongest man competitor around Bill Kaismaiers time. IP: Logged |
