Someone explain this to me. I just don't understand how stupid most people are. No one in this country uses their brain. Let's look at two drugs, one legal and one illegal. First the illegal drug: AAS. Steroids (and the people using them) are looked upon with horror by our culture. Basically, steroids are viewed in the same light as crack, X (or E, depending on where you're from) and other hard core narcotics by both the government and by society in general. If your parents/girlfriend/co-workers find out your are using steroids, you instantly become some horrific monster, capable of any number of unimaginable attrocities. Obviously, all of you know this is completely unjustified. The only thing that happens with responsible steroid use is that you automatically want to work harder, you get bigger, leaner, stronger, you look better, you feel better, you are happier with yourself, etc. Geez, what a long list of TERRIBLE things to have happen. Now lets look at the legal drug: Alcohol. Neither the society nor the government has any problem with this drug. It is both completely socially acceptable and legal to consume alcohol in large quantities. If your girlfriend knows you drink, big damn deal. She'll probably go drink with you. Most parents have no problem whatsoever letting their underage children drink with their high school or college friends on the weekend. Geez, sounds like Alcohol is a pretty ok drug if its so widely accepted. It's a much less dangerous drug than those evil nasty steroids. Bullshit. How many people die every year in accidents where alcohol is involved? How many people die every year from steroid use? When was the last time a teenager was killed in a car wreck after a party because someone was driving under the influence of steroids? But thats just short term. Look at the long term. I man in his mid-forties who's done a few cycles and works his ass off looks good, feels good, etc. The same age dude who pounds a six every night with dinner is fat and worthless. His liver is probably a few hours away from permanent retirement and his LDL count is probably 300. Basically what it comes down to is that alcohol is legal because it best suits our society. The majority of the people in this country want to be fat, stupid, lazy, and irresponsible. Alcohol is conducive to this. Everyone agrees that they like it. Poof! It's legal! Steroids are illegal because they represent what most people in society and in our government want to have nothing to do with: personal empowerment and hard work. It has nothing to do with saftey, as the statistics show. I'm just sick of people not using their common sense. ------------------ IP: Logged |
