Personally, my favorite are those full body elliptical trainers. I like having no impact and the full body movement makes it easier to get my heart rate up where i like it. I feel like I'm wasting my time and not accomplishing anything unless my heart rate is at 170. Unfortunately, my damn worthless gym has been closed for like four days in a row now due to "maintainance." So, I've had to get my cardio from running an a track, which is about my least favorite thing in the world to do. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I like the eliptical trainers too. How much cardio does everyone normally do when not dieting down for a show? How much/How often? IP: Logged |

Hey guys, how much cardio do you typically do to stay in decent shape ?(not pre-contest) I keep a little more bodyfat than I like when not doing any, but I get fatigued easy if I do too much. Just wanting to see how all of the bros do it. IP: Logged |

Running, it is hard on the knees, but it will whip your ass in shape. IP: Logged |

I've tried almost every cardio machine there is and i found the bike most effective... weird but true, i sweat the most when i'm just peddling the bike. The stair climbers are right there too, though much more tiring... IP: Logged |

Most cardio is infinitely boring... I've been taking cycling classes. They've whipped my ass into aerobic shape very quickly! I go three days a week. IP: Logged |

running...actually i used to hate running (all cardio even)...but if you stick with it for more than a week, something clicks...the little aches and pains go away....you aren't gagging for air, and you might even feel the elusive "runner's high"....i've found headphones with appropriate music make all the difference in the world... My choice of cardio would be none, if that was possible. But since I have no other option......I prefer the lifecycle with TV screen showing a bike racer. One local gym has them linked together so I can race against my training partner. IP: Logged |

The Precor Eliptical Trainer. I don't do any cardio when I'm bulking up off-season. I start cardio 12 weeks out from a show. 2 weeks out I am doing one 1 hour session a day. 1 week out I do 2 1 hour sessions a day. IP: Logged |

i heard running actually burns a lot of muscle and u should walk, bike or stair master instead. Anyone know about this? And does anyone know about running on empty stomach, like when wake up? If it burns a lot of fat or muscle? IP: Logged |

45mins of the treadmill at 3.5mph(some people call it running, but I'm tall enuff that I'm actually walking), good way to burn fat without chewin muscle like alot of those high intensity carido guys do, and then they wonder why they loose all there muscle or dont' have any to begin with.
