I can understand if you want to get to the 260-300 lb range for bodybuilding....but if your not a bodybuilder, what's the point? I mean, don't you think there comes a point where it is just too freaky? A solid 220lbs is just fine for me.

Anyone agree/disagree?

This is a matter of self-perception.......do what makes you happy Most people I know who started AS use with the intention of hitting 220 for personal reasons now compete. Perceptions change as you grow.

and when you compete you may weigh 240, but by the contest you may be a solid 205 after dieting, or even in the 195 range, so competing is difficult, its hard to do, diet, train, rest, all things in competing are stressful on the body. So if you weigh 250 thats cool, I mean how many guys that weigh that much are actually symmetrical or hard and cut also, not many theyre out there but rare.

personally i think people like ronnie coleman are too big. To a girl its a turn off. I mean for bodybuilding and the such thats fine and great and all, but icky at least for all the girl I know.
But on the flip side of it if my man got to be bigger then he is like 315lbs I'd be happy then again he's 6'6" and would wear it better then a lot of guys.

I most defenitly agree with you DX with the women part. I was just saying that in the pro field thats as big as it gets.I personally think that anywhere between 190 to 235 depending on height of course is fine as long as your body is porportioned right. For example big arms small chest or hugh upper body and skinny legs, they just dont look right...

well bow, it depends on your height and body structure. You can't really say 220 is big or little. It's big for a guy who is 5'6" but not for someone 6'6". I am 5'9" and 220 right now and not very big. It basically comes down to what makes you happy.

The trick is to pack as much muscle as you can. I'm 5'8" and perfect weight for me would be 210-215 but a 10% BF. This my ideal body. Hopefully in by next summer. 2 Cycles in the winter and DNP before summer starts. My fried is only 5'5"-5'6" but he has 16 1/2 inch arms and could squat 405 for 10 reps at a body weight of 165. Hovering around 10-12% bf. He look like he weighs more cause of the muscle in his compact body.

Right on!! I think todays guys are WAY too big. I'm 5'6" @205 and thats big enough for me.Some of you would be shocked to know how fucked up this sport is behind the scenes.Too many end up in the hospital all whacked out from drugs or in jail(supporting their habit)I think people forget that their idols are just as human as the next guy.

I started 5 years ago at 6 ft 180 . set goal for 190 . now 5 years latter and after 4th cycle i,m 43 6ft and 252. 12% body fat which i need to get to around 8 % I think its an addiction ,u see yourself getting bigger but not fatter and you can look awesome w/self discipline.

I don't think too big is a weight range. I think it's when you get too fat and/or start compromising your health. Within those constraints, the bigger, the better.

I totally agree. Pro bodybuilding is not about looking good, It's about looking like a freak. In my opinion, At 6'0 anything over 220 is going to hurt your performance in any sport (Except non-skill football positions) Obviously there are some exceptions. In the end though all that matters is how you want to look. If you think you look/feel best at 275 then thats where you should be.

I am 237lbs this morning, I want 260. When I get 260, I want to beging looking at competeing. I will never be to big. I know most people think the big guys are freaks, and I don't give a shit what most people think. I respect them for working so hard.

I agree with Fish, u can never be too big, and I think the pro's look great. I would love to be that big, at least for a little while. Although I have noticed that people start to get turned off when u start to get real big. I am in a hick town for the summer, not any hardcore bb's in here, and I am very small right now 213 lbs, and they look at me like I'm a freak. I can't wait to see the look on their face when I am 245-250 by end of summer.

What do you guys consider big for 5'6".

Right now I am small at 175lbs with 8% fat cause I competed in may at 166lbs @ 5% fat and lost a bunch of mass for that contest.

Last mass cycle I got up to 200 but @ 16% fat. I didn't feel that big even though I had 17 1/2 inch arms.

I think about 220-230 @ 10 %would be considered big for a guy that is 5'6".

I am in favour of Never too big!
Once upon a time i weighed 12 stone and at that weight thought i would be massive if i could get 14 stone, once i got there i wanted more.
Im now 17 stone and nowhere near happy.
never will be, im always gonna want to be bigger than the last cycle!

There's no such thing as too much strength. Strength is a gift. There can be too much mass, though. Your heart can only handle so much mass. 400 pounds on a 5'6" frame is too much.

there is no such thing as too big, especially when u are symmetrical. and to the people who think that ladies dont like the "huge bodybuilders", have u ever been to a show where a pro guest poses? the girls are all over them, and the girls are hot as hell too. sure some of the pros got some ugly ladies, but the majority have beautiful ladies.

You have to define your own goals and not look to others to validate them.

As for me, I want to get as big as I can and keep all my bodyparts in proportion.
